What do you think when you hear "High-Power"?

I think of Service rifle postition shooting with a sling at 200, 300, and 600 yards.

And Browning High-powers I think of the right sidearm of the free world, the AK of pistols (only refined and accurate, so only AK like for reliability and usage)

Hi-Power = my grandfather (it was graciously left to me)

High Power (the media term) = Low Intelligence (of the author... a .223 is NOT a "high power sniper rifle bullet," you dummies)

"I think of what a 1911's daughter would look like. Kinda like dad, but curvy, and with a double-stack. "

Great quote strat!

This is gonna sound stupid but for some reason when somebody says High Power I always think of Hi-point.I always get those two mixed up .
I've done it too, I almost got in a fight once because I said that Hi Powers were simply then ugliest gun ever made

I think of the dear dead friend that gave me mine

I think it was his final practical joke
I used to tell him it was the 1911s sissy cousin

That I ended up with a Ruger SP 101 357 mag in with a trade for a " High power" over a decade ago and have never been sorry. The Browning was vastly superior to the Baretta 92 I traded it for IMO. The 92 was bulky, ugly and never felt good in my hand. The Browning was a beautiful, good feeling gun, it's was a matter that I would NEVER trust my life with a gun that would on occasion jam.

For some reason I always think of the assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II. Kinda like seeing a Carcano reminds me of Kennedy's assassination.

When I see High Power, I think of a discipline of competitive shooting, shot at 200, 300 and 600 yards with rifles of .223 caliber or larger.

When I see Hi Power, I think of my first gun, the Rosewood-gripped Argentinian pistol that lives in my nightstand.

see my sig :D

EDIT (it's not showing for some reason...anyways)

Browning Hi-Power...much better than the Browning Lo-Power

:D

My high school English teacher (when I was in college) laughing and producing his Browning Hi-Power from his nightstand with a 30rd stick mag hanging from the mag well saying "They won't get past this!" (meaning a home invader).

He was one of a kind.

I seem to remember that some special operations folks carried browning hi-powers during the 60's and 70's. Occasionally, you saw a no nonsense troop with no name tag,no rank nor any patches at all, but wearing a fancy rolex watch. They would wear the high-power either concealed or in a shoulder holster when in a populated area. In less populated country, they would have all kinds of unusual armament.

New BHP

I think of the new Browning HP Practical I got yesterday!

I have been streamlining my handguns back to, primarily 1911s and S&W revolvers. Although I had shot them quite a bit, I had never owned a BHP before, so I wanted to add one.

Gave it some practice last night, and I have it on for carry today in a Galco belt slide. :D

to a british soldier high power means the browning 9mm and for all the 9mm isn't lethal
a 14int soldier was surrouned by 3ira men armed with m16s he killed all three.
although military 9mm is deisgned to fire from smgs so tends to be rather more powerful than normal civi pistol use

It makes me think of various African armies and militias.

I think I saw some security guards and police carrying them around when I was recently in South Africa.
