What do you want the Glock G40 to be?

I think I'd like to see a single stack, very thin 9mm with the height and length of a G19. Or a Glock 36 in 10mm ( a single stack 10mm )

G40:
5.7x28mm
Glock 35 sized but without the hole in the slide.
.110 wide Dawson front FO sight.
.150 wide Heinie Slant plain rear.
Metal guide rod
Smooth trigger
Small slide lock lever
Extra thick takedown lever

Wow, you haven't thought about that at all ;)

I think I would also like a 5.7x28, or even better a .357 magnum! Seriously.

Along the lines of a Glock 34, but in .22lr with 30+ round capacity.

+ 1 for 5.7X28

This is the most interesting caliber that will never catch on unless some additional players pick it up. There is no reason that with volumn the ammo would not come down to the same price as 9mm. This would be an ideal solution for many, small in size ammo (so could carry a lot), very little re-coil (easy for new shooters), high speed (little drop and long range accuracy), and very effective.

I like the single stack 9 or .40 idea but in subcompact size akin the Keltek PF9. Such a gun in 5.7x28 would be cool and quite innovative.

A compact 10mm... They already have the full-size and the sub-compact. If it was a compact, then I'd probably buy it right away. LOL

One word for that thing; unpleasant! :what:

I shot a 29 a month ago and it wasn't unpleasant at all.

Yeah, that's because it's a 29 (SUB-compact). Now try shooting a fullpower 10mm load out of a compact and tell me how it feels. ;)

I would like to see a 10mm version of their G34/G35, the G20 needs a 5 3/8" barrel. Hell they should make versions of their G34/G35 in all their calibers... Except maybe the .45 GAP.;)

Realistically

1. Glock 1911-ish model in 10mm or 45acp

2. Mid sized 10mm with supported chamber specifically for hot loads.

3. 40 or 45 super

Fantasy

1. 50AE

2. 500sw

I think somebody on the forum had previously made the recommendation that it be a .22 pistol.
That would be me  although I don't know if I'm the first or the only one.

I really want my "Glock 40" to be a slim, single-stack .45 ACP, about the same size - perhaps a little longer in the butt frame - as the G19,. And no, the G36 is not what I have in mind. I want a full length grip frame and a flush-fitting, 7- or 8-round magazine. Not having a counterpart in 10mm, the slide need not be oversized to accommodate the recoil of that round; it can be slender like that of the G36.

The Glock 40 will be a long slide .45GAP

It will be "adopted" by some police agency who will pay Glock, Inc $35 each.

Glock will advertise the heck out of the adoption and continue to expound the virtues of the .45Gap (like FN and the 5.7 and Sig with the .357sig)

You guys have to keep in mind, Glock does not look at us civies first when designing a gun and they wouldn't make one in 7.62 x 25. That's an obsolete round that no military uses anymore except for surplus arms in a poor country. LEO would not be interested in such a pistol either. I don't think they would design a single stack .45 ACP because they wouldn't want to basically call their .45 GAP models a failure.

I really think that they would create it in 5.7 x 28 or even .22 LR if they were going to go with a new caliber.

Yeah, that's because it's a 29 (SUB-compact). Now try shooting a fullpower 10mm load out of a compact and tell me how it feels.

Sub-compact is the smallest.

That way the Glock 22 would be in .40, while the Glock 40 would be in .22. As if their numbering system isn't confusing enough already, that would put it over the top.
Dang. First reply was right in line with my thoughts... Right down to the irony of the Glock .22 being .40 cal, and the Glock 40 being a .22lr.

With the popularity of service sized rimfires on the rise, it seems like a logical move. After a while, Glock could follow up on the rimfire Glock 40 by offering conversion kits for the compacts and subcompacts as well.

I realize there are major feeding/chambering challenges with autoloading rimmed cartridges, but I'd love a Glock in .38SPL. I think .357 Magnum would make the grip uncomfortably long and narrow.

I think if Glock came out with a line of rifles they would have tons of people lining up to get one.
