What do you want the Glock G40 to be?

A Glock in 9mm Mak with slimmer grip and 20 shot capacity. Factory threaded barrel, night sights, and safety lever.

I'd like to see the G40 be a departure to something more ergonomic for a wider variety of shooters.

Keep the G39 and below as the "classic" line and then going foward make the G40 the new full size .40, the G41 the compact, the G42 the subcompact, the G43 a competition model, the G44 a single stack, the G45 a full size .45ACP, the G46 the compact, the G47 a subcompact, the G48, a single stack, the G49 the full size 9mm, the G50 the compact, the G51 the subcompact, the G52 a single stack, the G53 a competition model, the G54 a full size GAP, the G55 a compact GAP, the G56 a single stack GAP, the G57 the full size .357 SIG, the G58 a compact, the G59 a subcompact, the G60 the full size 10mm, the G61 a compact, the G62 a subcompact, the G63 a single stack.

Get rid of the back strap hump and the finger grooves. Make the series with actual insert panels that allow real customization of the grip feel. Make the mag release buttons ambi and rounded off. Maybe round off the trigger guard and relieve the area associated with "Glock knuckle." Keep everything else.

Then, the traditionalists would still have their strangely shaped and boxy Glocks, and there would be a line that lets the company step out into the future from the early 1990s where their customers and Glock's general conservatism keeps them trapped.

I THIN SINGLE STACK 9mm without the stupid problems the G36 had and without the crazy fat slide and frame. Maybe even the same in .45acp since the XDS is coming out next month.
Also a polymer 1911 !!!!

A cast-zinc cap gun.

That way when all the fools go out and buy their Glock Fotays, gun store owners can sell them without a NICS check for an obscene markup.

Why a safety lever? I don't see the point on a Glock. Also I can't imagine it being 9x18 because the only current guns that fire it are surplus and ammo is hard to come by.

G40:
5.7x28mm
Glock 35 sized but without the hole in the slide.
.110 wide Dawson front FO sight.
.150 wide Heinie Slant plain rear.
Metal guide rod
Smooth trigger
Small slide lock lever
Extra thick takedown lever

Or a Glock 21 Longslide (no hole in slide)

Or a single stack 45 version of the Glock 23, 35.
Without the "hole" in the slide it's a single shot it will be too heavy to cycle.

You need to look at a Glock long slide to know what he's talking about.
On the top of the slide directly behind the front sight, is an oblong "hole" removed to lighten the slide.
Early longslides didn't have the hole.
