surprised no ones mentioned it, the Keltec PLR-16 is not too expensive, American made and a lot of fun to shoot, I'm hitting the range with mine as soon as I'm done with work.

How could I have forgotten black powder pistols. My pair of Colt walkers is definitely just for fun. As is my Steyr 95/30.... and my Saiga... and....on and on. I supposed most of my collection is just for fun. I have 1 HD firearm and 3 food getting firearms and the remaining 15 or so are just for fun.

I really enjoy my Walther P1, 9mm. Never had a problem it and it's a blast to shoot.

I think it has to be in a smaller caliber. Maybe a .357 that can double with the light .38's. Handgun so you can carry it easily. Stainless for easy maintenance. Three inch barrel, so you can reach out a bit but still enjoy the snubby part of things. Pretty wood grips with finger grooves. You won't need rubber cause the frame will be steel so the felt recoil won't be nothin' at all. The gun will be either used, or come complete with scratches so you won't have to worry about putting your own on. Engrave your initials somewhere so you won't ever worry about selling it. Tough. Not made anymore.

Saiga 12 Gauge with a MD Arms 20 round drum. Fun? Oh heck yes. 12 gauge on a AK-47 platform with 20 rounds is flat out fun. $565 bucks out the door for all of it so fun doesn't break the bank. I will tell you reloading on a $45 Lee Load All II helps a bunch also

My fun gun is a 4 5/8 Ruger Blackhawk 357/38 and a 9mm cylinder on the side. With more loadings possible than there's trigger time for there's no excuse in the world not to shoot it.
It's fun sister is a nearly pristine 1977 Marlin lever, 1894c in 357/38, another multi use joy.

Ruger Mark II

My all time "fun" gun (aren't they all though?) is the same as my first handgun purchase, the Ruger Mark II. They are accurate and fun. Of course since they shoot 22 LR they are cheap to shoot too. Even though I reload to be able to shoot more, this gun gets the most shooting time of them all.

My wife and 7 y.o. daughter enjoy shooting this little gun as much as I do. It's certainly a family gun. The 7 yo only gets one shell at a time though with me right behind her. Then again, we never child proofed the house, but we did house proof the child!

IMO, if you dont have a .22 rifle, that is what you should get NOW. If you dont have a lever gun either, knock both birds out with one metaphoric stone and buy a lever .22.

Otherwise, a .22 single action ( I still need one!) or possibly a .22 AR (M&P 15-22)
