I have a friend however who will hide some from his wife. If he is going to a show or the shop he just takes a empty case with him and says he is taking a rifle or pistol to be worked on. I always laughed about that one. I have also seen some guys in the store pay for part in cash then part on a card so it wont show up as big of a bill at the end of the month. Whatever it takes I guess.
:D :) :D

No GF at the moment, and I'm still in college, so when I showed up with a cardboard box with "Remington" on the side, my mother simply rolled her eyes, and asked where the devil I was planning on keeping it, as I will be moving in less than a year to TX, and space will be at a premium.

So I said it will fit in the same case I have my .22 in, therefore no extra space to worry about. (I didn't go into the size/weight of the ammo, or the reloading equipment/supplies.) But if I end up with the right girl, I may have to hide my stuff so she doesn't shoot it all herself. Kind of like the bike. I want the kind of girl I'll have to keep from stealing my main bike, just like one of my friends found out when he taught his girlfriend to ride. She keeps taking his favorite bike.:p

She knows I have some because she bought them for Xmas for me but I have 30 she hasn't seen. The last one I bought was a Sig 2022 in 9mm for which I haven't even shot yet.

My wife is a happy camper with her new house, couldn't care less about my guns. She does want my benz when her lease is up, but that ain't happening.

My "Ex" used to say, "You don't need any more guns"! And I would reply, "I may not need any more guns, but I WANT this one"!

Is this a gun thread or relationship counseling thread?:neener::neener:

But if I end up with the right girl, I may have to hide my stuff so she doesn't shoot it all herself.

If that's not true love for a THR member, I'm not sure what is.

i don't hide anything from her, and she doesn't hide anything from me. all finances are shared, so it would be impossible anyway. i tell her what i want, and we decide jointly when it is possible. she wants me to be happy, just as i want her to be.

this is silly...

My wife isn't interested in my guns. She knows how to shoot, and I have dedicated a gun for her use in home defense. When I start talking manufacturers and model numbers, she asks, "Which one is that?" The only gun she doesn't have a good handle on is the Nagant 1895 7.62x28R revolver, complete with holster, that I bought using incentive gift cards from work. She knows my carry guns, sans nomeclature, my Remington 870 12 gauge, and the Ruger Mini 14 she bought for me.

So, I don't have to hide anything.

I have not bought any new guns since moving in with the girlfriend, but I know I will not really "show them off" to her when I do make a purchase. She comes from an anti family...and its kind of a grey area for her.

I do own a certain rifle with russian ancestry that accepts 30 round magazines...of all the firearms I own, this is the one she is least likely to see any time soon.

I'm very fortunate in that I hide nothing from my wonderful girlfriend and she's fine with it all. At first, she was a little surprised at the amount of guns I have but then said, "I feel pretty safe here."

My 2 cents:
Hiding stuff, anything, from one's mate is a form of deception and deception is a very bad quality in any relationship. I wouldn't get involved with anyone from whom I'd have to hide anything.

I don't think I've really hidden anything from my girl. She doesn't like them too much but she really isn't against them. I think she's seen everyone of my guns except for the three that I've bought since I've come back to school. I guess the only time she complains is when I come back from the mountains from shooting and she only complains because she helps carry them and says they're too heavy :p

I showed this thread to my wife. ( really)

It's good for her to know She's is not alone. ;)

She also does not believe anyone who said they share all info. lovey dovey etc. etc., HA HA.

Sounds like I have a keeper.:D
