2 S&W Model 28 (Bought them to have reworked into something different.
Still pending)

2 Para-Ordinance- P-12 P-13 (Close enough I hope!)

Two S&W Schofields with two cross-draw holsters to match. BANG-BANG !!!

The fastest reload is another loaded pistol !!

Ever see "Outlaw Jose Wales" ? If I recall Clint had 5 full-size cap and ball
pistols and 2 vest/boot pistols. (2 in hip holsters, 2 in the front of his pistol
belt crossdraw fashion and 1 tucked in the back of his belt. Plus the boot
.31 cal and the same in his vest).

7 X 6 = 42 rounds!! That's one way get yourself out of a bad situation.

Bersa .22
Bersa .380
Russian Commercial Mak
Bulgarian Mak
Walther P-22
Kel-Tec P-32
Kel-Tec P-3AT
Kel-Tec P-11
Kahr K9
Glock 34

S&W 36-6

M1 Carbine

I'm going to get a 2nd Bersa Thunder .380. That way I can use one at the range, have a 2nd one clean for ccw while awaiting time to clean the first one.

I'm enjoying this thread, because I've always been fascinated by the fact that some people have two of a particular model. However I'm more curious about why they're doing it as opposed to what they've bought.

one 45 - well, my SRH's are of course not identical twins ... so, same platform but different cals. It is a platform I like.

My M-27's are of course different barrel lengths (5" and 8 3/8") - not even sure if I posted pics of those.

With the R9's ..... the first one I got and which was used for ammo tests etc ... has been ''retired'' because of its interest value. The second one was obtained so as to spare #1 the possible abrasions of carry, and so keep it in good shape and preserve value. A very expensive concession to collecting tho if truth known!!

HogRider: I'll see that and raise you a pair of 41 redhawks to boot!! :D

Those 357 'hawks are a riot, aren't they!!!

Of course I've got the 44 version as well.

1911s. Ruger .22 autos. S&W K frames. BHPs. Blackhawks. Security Sixes. M1s.

If it's a gun that really suits me I watch for another like it at an outrageously low price. Now and then I get lucky. If the primary piece "goes into the shop " I just pull out the other one and keep going.

P95Carry,

Thanks for the response. I can understand having the same platform in different calibers, it's just that I haven't been able to convince myself that I need another Glock 19, for example. I've tried, Lord knows. I've done my best to talk myself into it by rationalizing it as being for the bugout bag, or as backup, but try as I might my logical side overwhelms all. A gun left in my bugout bag wouldn't be shot as often and thus even in a reliable platform like the Glock I'd be hesitant to depend on it rather than the Model 19 I shoot regularly. (Besides, considering that the 19 is my current "always" gun, were the feces to hit the rotating oscillator it would immediately be tossed into the bugout bag anyway.) Similarly, I cannot justify keeping a second Smith&Wesson Model 642 around when the one I have is still in perfect working order.

Of course this isn't meant to demean or question those who do "double up" as it were, I'm just saying that I personally have never been able to talk myself into it.

Same here. Got a 44 (7.5") and a 45 (5.5") too. Don't have a 41.

It is rare that I would have two of the same gun, but I have found myself in that very situation with some guns that I like so much I bought a second.

1. SIG P225
2. S&W P&R 3" Mod 65
3. S&W Mod 41
4. High Standard Victor 5" Hamden
5. Soon to add a second Rohrbaugh

Those I have two identical guns, same size, same caliber. I have the entire series of 40 cal Glocks (22, 23, 24, 27, 35), Steyr M (but one is 9 the other 40), SIG P226, P220, P229, and the Sport versions of each, S&W J-frames, K-frames, and N-frames, but none of those really count and since we are in the handgun forum I won't mention my five Remington 870's.

  • (2) Colt Pocket Nines
  • (2) S&W 5906's
  • (2) S&W 4006's
  • (3) S&W 3913's
  • (2) S&W 4013's
  • (2) S&W 4513's
  • (2) Taurus 85's (one of them is with a concealed hammer so I'm not sure if that really counts since they ain't identical)

  • Hope to soon add a second Rohrbaugh R9S ;)

In the semi-auto group I have 3 1911 style handguns in .45acp:
Kimber TLE/II
Springfield Armory GI WWII Champion
Stainless Para Ordnance Carry 12 LDA

In the revolver group:
Stainless Ruger Redhawk .41mag 7 1/2" (scoped)
Stainless Ruger Redhawk .357mag 5 1/2"

I have two different pocket carry guns that I want a twin for.
Kel-Tec P11 in 9mm
Taurus PT145 in .45acp

Nada

No duplicates. Zip. Zilch. Zero. Similar? I have lots of similar guns. My carry ensemble includes various CZs.

I have a RAMI, 85 Compact, and a 97B. The 40 S&Ws can share mags. Want a 40 S&W CZ 75 full size standard B, SA, or IPSC/TS to go with them. I'd also like one of the new long slide SP-01s when they become available even though it's 9mm.

All have the same controls in the same locations, all are carried C&L, all of them point the same for me. That's close enough for me.

All 3 of my revolvers are double action. . . does that count?

I've never found a gun I liked so well that I wanted two of it before getting a different model, although the CZ 97B comes really close. I would love one in 10mm though.

Almost...

I have some 1911s.
Bullseye Wadcutter Gun, Colt pre-70s frame and slide,
Bullseye Hardball Gun, Colt 70s frame and slide,
.45 ACP Series 70; destined to become (I think) a Super .38 'Distinguished' pistol,
1911 by Remington UMC, made in 1918. My 'duty' gun.
They compliment each other, but there is not a 'pair' amoung them.

A 'set', but not a pair of Uberti SAA clones in .44-40; one is a 4.75 barrel and the other a 'Sheriff's' Model.

I have a number of K frame .38 Specials, but no two matching. One in particular is an M10, cut down to be a belly gun. It has been round-butted and the hammer spur removed and the barrel cut just forward of the extractor rod lug. Front sight remounted. A set of smoothed and chopped Shooting Star grips make it very usable. I keep thinking I need to have another one just like it.

I do have an almost 'pair'. Two S&W M27s; one a blue 5" and the other a nickle 6.5". I'm planning on having the longer one trimmed so they are both 5", and wear them as a pair. I call them Hell-Fire and Brimstone. The nickle one is Brimstone. I still have to find a suitable set of grips for Brimstone; a set of Herrett's Shooting Stars. I may have to order two sets to make sure the wood matches on both guns.
I'm in the design phase of making holsters for them. Left and Right set; something on the order of a Tom Threepersons scabbard or "Rooster" rig with decorative band around the middle. Probably with a Knight chesspiece, ala Paladin; except facing the correct way.
Why? It just appealed to me.

two mountain guns, one 45acp, the other 45colt. The third pictured is a 625 in 45acp
