9mm model that takes beretta 92 mags? i saw one at Gander mountain for $599 - 5% for my discount is that a good, ok, or bad deal? if you don't mind what did you guys pay for em? i have been wanting one for a long time but other things keep comming up, but my dad saw this one while with me and he had to have it and i am trying to find out if it is a good deal or not before he comits thanks!

It seems to me that by buying a storm you're just paying out the wazzoo for a brand name, so what I would just do is buy a Hi-Point carbine and then purchase the Cx4 style stock from ATI. You'll get the look at a fraction of the cost.

Oh, and try not to let this sway you too much, seeing that I don't own either a Storm or a Hi-point. I'm just throwing this out there to inform you of other options ;)

Well, my buddy found one unfired for a little less than 450, but thats because he got lucky. My candyshop I frequent has some pretty fair prices I would say, and a NIB is right around 600, so I would say that it isn't too bad of a price...My local shops(I don't buy from) are selling them for around 700 I believe.

I would say that going for a Hi Point is a bad move, and spending more cash to dress one up is a really bad move. I'm 6'0", and I think the Hi Point is a rather nice stock design, is short, and cool right out of the box. However, when I started shooting mine, it's a jam-o-matic. It's accurate but it rarely makes it's way through a mag without a jam, regardless of the ammo. I have used multiple mags with the same success.Others have better results, but I would hate to make that gamble.

I have shot around 30 combined rounds in the Berettas in both 9x19 and .40 S&W, both with iron sights.he owner's of the respective guns had no jams through the hundreds o0f rounds they fired. Good accuracy out to fifty yards, and no jams.

Definetely worth it to spend a little more for the Beretta.

I own both. While it seems that you're just paying for a brand name, you're not. I enjoy shooting my hi-point carbine (with the ATI stock) but I enjoy shooting my cx4 a lot more. It's not just a brand name, it's a better firearm.

Sounds like a good price for the beretta. Nothing stellar, but decent.

maybe i am just a gun snob but i could never own a hi-point of any kind. i just can't just like i couldn't own a raven, or jennings, i just couldn't bring my self to do it.
i appreciate the real world reviews of the storm, as i have also shot and handled one, about 100rds or so through one and i absolutly loved it it was a hoot to shoot. and i wanted one before that but even more after a little trip to the range with one!
so that price ain't all that bad! thanks guys i didn't think it was great but definetly doable, and i think worth it!
thanks again everyone!

All the stores around me (I live in Maryland) wanted anywhere from 750-850 for a new cx4 9MM. I had to drive down to Virginia for a decent price. I picked mine up for $650.

I LOVE my storm :)

After a long struggle deciding between this and a sub2k, my decision was made when a CX4 popped up at a gun store for $500+tax. I've seen a very few around that price on GA but am leery of buying something way below retail sight unseen.

After 2 days of shooting, I really like it.:D

p.s. - For compatibility w/ my XD, I wanted the .40 version with Beretta 96 mags and this model seems to be less common than 9mm and/or the other mags - so be clear on which one you want.

It was a display model. The staff may have fired it but they wouldn't fess up. In any case, it looks new and one couldn't tell if it had been fired or not. I was also able to get the warranty with Beretta and doing it online got me 3 years. Good enough for me!
