What is the most recent knife you bought?

^ You guys are feeding my knife habit. And I'm starting to go after all the Kershaws whenever I see 'em on sale-- so many of them are some of the best values out there in small folders these days.

Still appreciate the old Case pocketknives, too.

Just purchased this Shun kitchen knife as a gift for my son. With everyone avoiding restaurants, figured he'd have more opportunity to use it.

68 layer Damascus with a VG Max core. Sharp doesn't begin to describe it.

When we bought our first house, my parents bought me a full set of those kitchen knives. 17 years later, they are still going strong. Amazingly resilient.

I got a buck 110 for "Secret Santa" this year. Its a new one with green plastic sides- no metal frame so not sure they'd be scales exactly. Its got a thumb stud and a pocket clip. Its really light compared to the buck 345 I normally carry at work.
Now, if I think about it, I may swap out my knife if we are going out. But I like the drop point better at work.

It's a generic linerlock but grinds and function are good, steel is up a notch from D2, centers well, and no blade play. Complaints about earlier models included tip down only, too-big blade studs and crazy big flipper. They fixed the first two, but the flipper is still a dorsal fin. It and the liner lock edge may be softened slightly if they get in the way.

I often see people talk about the blade being centered. Is this an important function thing, or just a tiny bit of OCD?

It's probably more OCD than anything, but to me it's an indicator of the care with which a knife is constructed. I see it mentioned in videos so included it in my comments. Not a deal breaker, and often possible to tune up, but further assurance that the knife is straight, sturdy and inspires confidence.

I think the only word that best describes this knife is "Breathtaking!"

Thank you for sharing this stylish bit of knife making art!
