What is the most recent knife you bought?

I picked up this oddball, Spyderco Spyopera with brown Micarta and M390. I am curious if it was heat treated to Spyderco’s M390 (higher than 60) or Lionsteel’s (~58 to 60). I prefer the higher HRC overall. I really like the look and feel of this weird thing! The spine and lock hardware are crowned and it’s running on bearings. Action is fantastic.

Alright I love this little thing. I’ve been putting it through its paces with lots of whittling and some wood carving and its still super sharp, so perhaps it is heat treated to Spyderco’s standards. All of the contouring, chamfering, and crowning make it wonderfully comfortable in hand.

5 years ago, I was shooting a horse show in Ft Worth. Between events I was exploring the area and stumbled across a knife shop House of Blades. I had to go in and look around. I walked out with a new Benchmade Boost that is the knife I have carried every day since.
House of Blades has a lifetime sharpen policy on knives they sell. Be warned. This is a trap!
I was back in Ft Worth earlier this month and stopped in for a free sharpening. It cost me a couple hundred + dollars.

Benchmade Bugout Carbon Fiber.

The original Bugout had a cheap looking colored plastic handle and really did nothing for me.
The carbon fiber and better steel for the blade changed my mind.
Mostly the CF. I am a sucker for that.

Smooth action. Light and comfortable in the hand and carries very nicely.
My boost is still going to be my EDC in the real world, but when I need a discreet knife and am not going to be fixing fences or other crazy activities, this little blade will be great.

Nice purchase! I don't have any S90V, and thats one of the knives that calls to me to give it a try.

I am told that it holds an edge well but is harder to sharpen. Not a big deal to me since I cant sharpen a knife worth a crap. I let someone else do it.

Anyone can sharpen with an angle guided system like the KME or Work Sharp Precision adjust and some decent stones. I use diamonds for everything on my KME, but they really shine on high carbide steels like Maxamet, Z-Max, S110V and S90V.

You don't understand.
The quickest way to ruin a knife or a drill bit is to hand it to me, and say "sharpen this" it will never be the same again!
Some things are just best left to the pros.

Kizer Yorkie just arrived. Hard to open. Maybe it will loosen up. If carried right side with the clip, the blade points up. Only mounts one way. Locks up tight. Sharp out the box. Did I say the packaging was huge? And then some. All surfaces are real Smooth, let’s see how easy it is to carry. Like it so far.

The last couple of knives I bought were a Hen & Rooster mini stockman and a Kabar 1152 scout/camp knife.

I bought two of the H&Rs, one for me and one for my dad for Father's Day.

The Kabar lived a hard life before I got it. The blade has serious pitting on the sides but otherwise, it is structurally sound. Since it's not pristine I am treating it as a user. The can opener worked great at camp yesterday to open a can of corned beef hash for breakfast.

From what I've read on a couple other forums, the Kabar was actually made for them by Camillus.

I just bought the last knife I "NEEDED" to fill out my Esee series, the Beast, an Esee 5. WOW! what a knife! Pretty sure it's nearly indestructible.

Here's a picture of my collection, Junglas, E6, E5, E4, Candiru, and AH1-Arrowhead.

I had never seen one in the flesh so to speak, so i had a bit of shock when it arrived regarding the scales and how parchment white or very light tan they looked. I did a better look in the catalogue and the E6 comes true green and the E5 does come light colored. I know it'll darken as I handle it, and if I like I could Rit Dye the scales to get it a tad greener.

This will be my "serious" use knife in emergency situations in urban settings. However, it'll be a lot of fun seeing what it'll do during a break-in period when I camp and hunt.

2 days later, follow up: instead of dye I used mineral oil and rubbed till it didn't feel slick, worked great!

As mentioned elsewhere, I ordered three of the CRKT Offbeat II and they were delivered today. There's an ongoing review thread which covers the knife well. Nothing for me to add other than member SteadyD is correct in his assessment of this knife.

Just came in, two Steel Will knives. The Gienah- longer of the two. And a Fjord with its unique thumb stub. Both look nice, open easy and have a quality feel. If you haven’t seen one, then make it a point to. Going to try to reverse the stud on the fjord since I am a lefty.
