What is the most recent knife you bought?

20230703_180610.jpg My latest "bought" knife is the first one I ever handled. Found it among my father's things when I was young. Very young, around 6. Opened the blade but was afraid to push the lockback release, thinking it was spring loaded and would slam the blade on my fingers. I didn't know any better. I put it back in my father's drawer, still open and it stayed for decades. Today my parents dropped it off to me today. He never really used it so it is no loss to my parents. It has spent the last few decades in a leather holster getting an ugly green face. 15 minutes on my workbench and it was mirror shiny. Vintage Gerber. Made sometime in the 70's is all I know about it. Brass and wood handle. 4.25" blade.

Transformer?

Can we see it open?

CRKT Provoke. Not practical by any stretch of the imagination. Impulse buy. I'm calling it my tactical fidget toy. Quick one handed opening, but have not yet found a way to close it one handed. Blade feels dull to the thumb touch, but will shave. I have no idea how to sharpen a hawk bill, but I will learn.

Well, I was at a local garage sail and bought a Sheffield multi tool for 5 bucks and did not even dicker about it. I came with a cheap case. One of my favorites is my GI issue Gerber when I was in Kuwait in 91 which I carry all the time. It came with a camo case and recently I made a leather case for it. So now I will be making one for the Sheffield tool.

My advise is what do you want it for? combat, survival, hunting, etc.... Where are you going to use it most? the ocean? Or in the jungle? All factors to consider, Most buy a knife for general use, or they like how it looks. In the end it's your decision, You know what you need it to do....

I mostly combat envelopes and cardboard boxes. I really enjoy seeing the variety of knives that people post here.

GEC 62 with Unicorn Ivory Acrylic and 1095. Oh man this is my new favorite right now! Awesome little sheepsfoot and pen blades and overall super thin since they are on the same back spring. This is the first knife I’ve been tempted to not use for fear of uglying it up!
