What is everybody's EDC? Tell me what firearm, flashlight, knife, and other goodies you keep for EDC. Tell me why you chose these tools and post pictures if you'd like!

The referenced thread leans more to sidearms and carry systems - there may be more to various people's EDC than that.

Mindset - decades of study, observation and practicing situational awareness

Skillset - a number of classes from various trainers, seminars, competition and practice

And lastly... Toolset

Kel-Tec PF9, usually without a reload, but frequently backed up by a Kel-Tec P32, cell phone, patrol/rescue knife, wallet/badge case (current profession's badge and ID included, along with carry license), keys (two sets), and situational awareness, stemming from over 25 years in emergency response (some of which was spent in law enforcement.)
These are "on-body" carry items.. vehicle equipment is for another forum.

Aside from the obvious wallet and keys:
S&W 469 9mm in a Bianchi 19L left hand thumb break holster
If I carry a reload, it'll be 15 rounds of FMJ in a Blackhawk mag pouch
Leatherman Surge in a belt pouch
Streamlight mini (single AA bettery) flashlight.
Any of my folding knives.
iPhone.

That about covers it

hmm, usually glock 19 in IWB holster or S&W 649 in pocket holster - no reloads for either
streamlight protac 2L
kershaw leek but might step up to something beefier
cell phone
wallet

taken a couple defensive pistol and hand to hand courses to help with training situational awareness/reaction

My basic hardware: Ruger SP101, spare cartridges in Bianchi Speed Strips, Masters Model Karambit pre-5.11 folder, Casio GZone Brigade, and Surefire LX2 Lumamax. No wallet, as such; ID and one credit card ride in a concealed, slim ID holder.

I will add an ultra-slim wallet or two, depending upon where I am going. I do not carry my life around all the time in one big wallet. What is the saying about not keeping all of one's eggs in one basket?

I add another, straight-bladed knife or two, depending upon where I am going.

I almost always carry another handgun, which may be another SP101, a larger S&W or Ruger .357 revolver, or a Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special. Rarely, the additional handgun will be smaller, a J-frame 642 variant or a Seecamp LWS-32.

Five to seven days a week, in police uniform, I carry the mandated .40 double-column DA auto duty pistol. Of the several authorized choices, I have been using a SIG P229R DAK since November 2004. (We buy our own duty weapons around here.) I had often carried the P229 on my own time, concealed, until it starting hurting my aging, aching wrist to train with it, so I brought the Baer out of the safe earlier this year. An all-steel 1911, shooting the less-snappy .45 ACP, means painless training, which results in greater confidence in my accuracy under stress. I had tended to carry my duty handgun on my own time since
1984, believing strongly in the wisdom of that concept, but getting old means changing some things.

Every single day, everywhere I go, regardless of weather or dress, this is what is on my person:

• Watch - Citizen Eco-Drive
• Keys (Including Fenix EO5 keychain light)
• Wallet
• iPhone
• Knife - Benchmade Mini Griptilian

Most days, I add:

• Firearm - Ruger LCP in a Galco pocket holster
• Additional Light - Maratac AAA in Summer, Surefire E1B in winter

Monday through Friday, to and from the office, I also carry my laptop case/briefcase/"get home" bag, which includes a LONG list of other useful essentials.

I carry a Spyderco Tenacious G10, iPhone, student RFID card (without it, you can't get into any of the buildings on campus), and a backpack full of assorted notes and textbooks which I'm sure could at least be bullet resistant in a pinch..

- TNG

When I am in school, what I carry varies daily, and never includes a firearm.
  • Leatherman MUT (sometimes)
  • CRKT M21 (sometimes)
  • Wallet
  • Keys
  • Backpack with textbooks, notes, and my laptop
  • Cell phone

When I am not going on campus:
  • CRKT M21 (always)
  • S&W M&P9 (FS)
  • 1 spare magazine
  • Wallet
  • Keys
  • Leatherman MUT (sometimes)
  • Cell phone

.32 in pocket
Who are you really? Bad , Bad Leroy Brown? "He got .32 gun in his pocket just for fun" Jim Croce. Sorry but been listening to Jim Croce and that is a line from the song.

642 pro in my pocket for fun. In a bulldog pocket holster, 1 moonclip, a 3" synthetic folding buck knife sharp.

Mindset of a warrior, alertness of an eagle, the scream of a banshee.:what:

I am a youngster, so no gun...

SOG Flash II folder- this I wear even when out of bed in PJs still. (Random rant incoming) while knives stink for defense, my Ohio residence means I can't have a baton, pepper spray, stun gun, nuttin... I'm no knife fighter at all, but if some guy tries to run off with my little sister, me with blade beats me trying to fight a fully grown adult male... And I use it like a million times a day for everyday stuff. :)
Swiss Army Knife
Little Multitool I found under the freezer in my basement :)
Mini Maglite
Keys
Wallet
Gum
A few pens
Casio watch
Cargo Pants
Army Combat Boots (A little weird, but I love 'em!)
My glasses- blind without 'em!

OK.

Weapon: Ruger LCP. Small, easily concealed and will do the job.
Flashlight: Fenix LD10. Small, poweful and takes a standard battery.
Knife: Leatherman Wave. Does other jobs other than just cut things.

Justifications for all the above: "In my estimation" - the only estimation that counts.

As a general rule, if I have pants on, I have the following items:

Wallet: I'D and currency are always important

Keys: Unlocks house and vehicles

Knife: Does everything. How does any adult human not carry a knife these days?

Handgun: The gold standard in personal defense. No matter what, everyone is responsible for their own self preservation. A handgun keeps me at the top of the foodchain, literally and figuratively.

Reload: Because a handgun without ammunition is an expensive, akward impact weapon.

Cell Phone: Part of the top of the foodchain mentality. Cell Phones are the best method available for long range communication, aside from the thousand other useful things they do.
