What is your most faithful pistol?

I have only owned one auto loader that has never malfunctioned. It is a 1911 Springfield Mil-Spec.

My every day carry is a KAHR PM45 that jammed once at round number 39, so it is a close second but it's still second.

Here they are together.

Although every gun I currently own has never failed, I trust my life and carry my Beretta 92 FS Vertec. I did get rid of three 1911 (Colt Gold Cup, Para CCW, Para Companion) because all three would have different jamming issues. I will admit that Gold cup was accurate, but not reliable.

I never worry about my Beretta though. If I didn't carry that I would carry my Ruger SP 101.

The first box of ammunition I fired through my Steyr M40a1: I had two instances where the trigger refused to do anything, then it happened once again on the second box. That was a dozen or so boxes ago, so feel it's a non- issue... but does that mean this gun has a tarnished reputation?

I originally bought a Beretta 92fs for carry (I never used to be a fan of Glock), but I got a Glock 22 for christmas last year, and it has turned out to be my favorite gun. It's my primary carry, even when I go to the store or run other errands, I'll put it in my glove box. I feel kind of stupid for not being one of those "don't judge it before you try it" types". But oh well, I've seen the error of my ways, and will be a Glock fan for life.

My "Old Faithful" would be my S&W 4506. I carried it for 18 yrs as a duty weapon and put thousands of rounds through it (in training). It never let me down one time.

Of the 7 semi-autos I have owned at one time or another: S&W 1911, Beretta 92FS, Springfield XDM .40, Springfield XD-40 Subcompact, Browning Buckmark, Ruger P95, and Ruger LCP, only 3 of them have had a flawless run from the beginning. They are:

1. Springfield XD-40 Subcompact (~2,500 rounds)
2. Ruger LCP (only 75 rounds so far)
3. Ruger P95 (~1,000 rounds)

All the others had at least 1 malfunction of some kind. Usually right out of the box, first couple of mags, then the problems go away. But the 3 listed above ran perfectly out of the box. I'd give the win to the XD-40 SC, since I've shot it the most and shoot it well.

It's the one I have sitting next to me right now: my old Interarms PPK/S.
