What gun do you covet the most out of your collection, and why?

I have a tie, it is either my MG-42 or my "Monster Mosin" project gun. The MG-42 because you just can't say no to beltfed goodness. And my Mosin because it is my first attempt at a project gun.

Hmmm, tough one. I like almost all of the ones I've bought. If I had to choose one, it would be my Marlin 336C lever action in 30-30. I choose it mostly because it puts a huge smile on my face when I take it out. I sent it out to have the barrel chopped to 16.75" (shortened for brush hunting and went from 6+1 to 5+1), the action polished/smoother, and a slightly larger lever put on it. I own things that cost more, kick less, and are more accurate but the good old lever action is just my favorite.

Until today...it was my Rem 1100, because it was given to me my my grandfather when I started hunting... I still love that gun. Today, I picked up my Rem R-25 and I love that weapon.

My '50's era 5-pin K22.

I'm not much of a wheel gun kinda guy, but even I know a classic when I see one.

My Bushmaster AR-15 A3. Because it was my first rifle i bought. Wasnt my first gun but first time I picked out the gun and bought it will my own hard earned money. Now just workin on building my M4

From 1977

Pinned & recessed 3.5" Smith & Wesson model 27-2 .357 magnum; all
original, and in its presentation case with spec sheet, blank warranty
card, brocheures, and tools~! ;) :D

*FootNote: Note that the cylinder has not been turned on this revolver; as it
is carefully opened for lubrication purposes, then returned too the same cylinder

Probably my S&W .38 J-frame. I could sell off the rest of my collection, and that little wheelgun would suit 90% of my firearm related needs all by itself.

My grandfathers IP M1 Carbine he brought back from the Pacific and Japan.

That rifle has seen a lot of combat, its an old warhorse, so its not perfect. But it still works perfectly and is accurite.

BTW that MG42 is awsome, I hope to own one someday.

usnmars: Awesome camo job on the "monster"

Also what stock is that and where did you get it from, thanks.

Guns are, well, guns.

But this 1944 Stevens 620 reminds me of the brave men and women who of the United States Armed Forces who went into harm's way so my family could breathe the air of freedom.

Some of them never came back and some are there right now.

God Bless each and every one of them!

None. They are tools. I don't have a hammer, wrench, set of punches, multimeter, or calipers that I like more than the others.

I have had least-prized guns before, that were quickly sold off. For me, a gun is either "prized" or it is worthless. I'm not a collector. Every gun I own, even family heirlooms built before my parents were born, are fired and used (usually, on every range trip, too).

My Ruger #1 RSI in 30-06. Not the most accurate nor the most valuable nor the the most powerful. But it fits like a glove and is very pretty. And, I have not missed a deer with it yet.

My first kill was a running neck shot at about 100 yards. I jumped the whitetail and it was running right down the fence line. I shouldered the gun and the crosshairs were on the neck. I squeezed and saw deer butt in the scope. That has set the tone for the rifle.

My pet load gives me 2650 fps out of the 20" barrel with a Hornady 180 gr flatbase Interlock and prints 1.25" at 100 yds. It is good for any game I wish to hunt.

It is by far and away the most aesthetically pleasing rifle I own. It has a nicely figured full length stock, and at about 38" it is about as cute as a bug.

A very near mint 1974 Remington 541S. It was the gun my grandfather taught me to shoot with...really nice rimfire rifle, but it's the sentiment that makes it prized.

usnmars- I have no words to express how impressed i am at the job you did on that Mosin.
If i wasn't so buried wallet deep in my CZ 452 Ultra Lux Benchrest gun i would have to build exactly one like yours, Just in different shades of black.

Here is my CZ which btw is my most prized also.
Muellerscope004.jpg

In 2-3 days i have a Don Stith Sportster Benchrest stock made in Curly Maple with a 2 1/4" for end and a straightline butt with contrasting butt.

The scope is a Mueller 8.5-25x50 with 3" shade.
Its also been fully bedded and pillar'd.

Its no competition gun as i do it for fun, But my best work so far is:
USBR 50 yard target with a score of 225x5 but i average in the 215 zone mostly.
And a 50y 8 groups of 3 shots with a .306 average.

Not bad for a $400 gun :)

My most prized prized possesion would have to be my Remington 513T 22lr built in 1941.
This is an MOA rifle using the original redfield peep sights.

My most prized pistol is my Beretta 92FS. Simply because I bought it with my own money, under my own power... my first firearm.

Very close second is a Bushy M4A3. I bought that right out of the gate after my honorable discharge.

Most likely my Remington 600 6mm vent rib carbine which was a first year production, which was in 1964.
Tied for second is an ultra rare Remington 700 LVSF in 308.
