Ok guys what are your current gun project/gun related projects that you have going on right now. For now I am trying to finish a wood stock on my rifle.:D I love projects

I'm still working on my "new" Ballester-Molina. Got a semi-decent cold blue finish on it finally. Took eight hours to make the slide accept the solution. I got the rails tightened up to where slide function is tolerable. It was amazing how much play it had in it. All I need now is a new barrel and I'm all done (with the major stuff).

Wearing the barrels out of as many guns as I can has been an ongoing project for me. So for no luck yet but I'll keep at it.

I have a Kel Tec KSG.

I'm thinking of moving the gun to the top of the rotation as the primary HD gun. At present the first "go to" gun is the AR .223.

The KSG now has a cylinder bore and holds a 15.5 inch pattern at 15 yards with 00 Buckshot.
My HD distance can be 35 yards or a little further, so I need as tight a pattern as possible out to that distance.

Yesterday I received and installed a SMT choke adapter.
Today I looked around for a Winchester choke but couldn't find the Full Choke I want to try.
I'll check tomorrow.

As the weather turns bad and I'm stuck inside more, a project is to load all the .223, 9mm, 45ACP, 38/357, 357 SIG, etc, brass I have. This comes to quite a few thousand rounds and makes a good winter project. :)

Machining drop tubes for my Hornady L-N-L and RCBS Pro2000 progressives so that I do not have to re-adjust the powder drop die or have one for each caliber. (Wish I had figured this out before purchasing a baker's dozen powder dies).

I already have a bunch made for the Hornady (38 Spl, 38 Super, 30 Carbine, 44 Spl, 45 Colt, 40 S&W, 357 Sig, 380 ACP) but need ones for 44 Magnum and 357 Magnum.

I have drop tubes for the Pro2000 for 204 Ruger and 223 Remington but need one for 300 BLK, 30-06, and 308 Winchester. The last two will be a challenge due to the larger difference in length from the other cartridges.

For a winter project, I have parts to assemble a Garand including NOS barrel and gas tube. Like I need another Garand but they are like Lays potato chips.:)

I'm acquiring .358 bullets and powder when possible to load up some .38 Special ammo. I'm not without anything right now, but it never hurts to have a little more. I hate to use up what I have... just because it's harder to replace.

I'm thinking about building an AR, but none of the parts are in my possession yet. Not sure which direction I'll go with that yet.

I've bought some 9mm ammo in anticipation of buying a 9mm semi-auto in the not too distant future.

I recently bought a Lyman Deerstalker flintlock .50 caliber, 500 .38 Special casings, and a couple hundred cast lead 9mm bullets for $150. I'm planning to get acquainted with the Lyman and maybe use it for hunting this year if I don't find employment that takes me elsewhere first.

I'm building a AK74. I started this last year. I still have to parkerize the parts.
Also building a AR15 Vltor Upper. I can't find the barrel I want so this might be summer before I get to shoot it.
I'm refinishing a second stock for my X sniper Mosin. It's getting pillar bedding and glass bedded. The trigger and iron sights are done.

I have a pretty badly cracked stock on a Stevens 520 Takedown in 12ga. I have a rod I am going to drill a hole for and then epoxy the whole thing together..should do the trick.

And just today I picked up SIXTY-NINE handmade leather holsters for various compact firearms (Ruger LCP, Kahr p380, keltec, s&w bodygaurd, etc.) for a SONG..so if you want a nice, never-worn leather holster on the cheap, send me a PM and we'll go from there ;)

I also need to finish my reloading setup.

Yay projects!

Working on a Mossberg 20ga. for an old friend.
Last guy he gave it to locked it up tight treating it like it was an 870. Then told him it was "somewhere". Found it helping the guy move 2 years later.

Cleaning the rust will be the worst part.

I am also thinking of doing a spray camo on a Traditions Wolf .50cal, a Marlin 795 and 870 Express 12ga. I like the new camo but want a set that looks "old school", like me. :D

Other than cleaning the continuous rotation nothing big during hunting season.

Have an old beater Maverick 88 12 gauge that was rusty and ugly. Stripped the rust and blueing and coated it in Alumahyde but it wasn't as durable as I had hoped.

Now I'm debating hiring someone to bead blast it or buy a cabinet and strip it, blast it with some aluminum oxide and try again.

Trying to find a hand load that will shoot at least 1 MOA in my 6.8SPC. This rifle has been frustrating since converting from a 20" HB in .223, which shot <1MOA.

Rebuilding an H&R top break .38 S&W.
Looking for a new stock, fore arm and barrel for my Remington model 11 for a Whippet, while maintaining the integrity of the original.

Also stocking up on 12 gauge reloading supplies so I can put the press to work this winter.

A couple of months ago I stumbled on an SA Champion LW Commander at a great price

It already had an adjustable rear sight installed, my next steps were:

Slide milled for a Novak white dot front sight

EGW guiderod/flatwound recoil spring combo to replace the stupid "barbell" guiderod

Nowlin 3.5# Commander Match Trigger Pull Kit

Just got the Wilson Combat Beavertail safety

I already have a Wilson Combat checkered flat MSH and oversized mag release.

A friend has made me a set of custom grips

Still shopping for the slide release and thumb safety.

I will certainly put more into this gun than it cost me to buy it originally, but my DIY 1911 project is really turning out to be a lot of fun

I just recently finished my AR re-build.

With "Outlaw Jr." on the way, my projects are probably on hold for a while.

Gun projects for him/her, on the other hand....

Just finished the Savage Hog Hunter rebuild. Had a heck of a time figuring out a subsonic load that burned consistent but I figured it out. That was it for now so nothing new on the horizon.

I am finishing up a Pedersoli Harpers Ferry flintlock pistol kit from Dixie gun works. I still need to put a couple more coats of tung oil on the stock and finish polishing the brass butt cover.

Here are a few of mine in order of costs involved......

1. Buying 7.62x51mm ammunition. (Found a good local source at a price I couldn't beat by reloading, so plan to buy it up)

2. A few different optics for different rifles here and there.

3. Tinkering with a synthetic OEM 10-22 stock.

4. Working over a synthetic GI M14 stock.

Nothing right now but wouldn't mind getting another black powder kit (probably a flintlock pistol as I have already built a Hawken rifle and an 1861 Colt revolver).

You probably should NOT waste your money on a Full choke for 00 Buckshot. Modified max. Maybe try some of that Tru-Flite type stuff for your particular need.

Me? I'm thinking of gettin' a new 500 action to put a new 8-round mag tube and rifle-sighted "tactical barrel" on. It's cool! May even buy the whole gun with an 18-1/2" barrel and trade that barrel with an acquaintance who stupidly bought the wrong Mossberg 500 combination set including a rifled slug barrel w/scope he will never, ever, use so I'll trade him the short $99 barrel for the $200 upgrade -- win/win. Yeah, I know it's just screwing things but it's a project to me...

Dude, it's a Maverick 88! You've already spent more time than it's worth typing out what you were thinking of going on to do. Spend the $99 and buy another one brand new before the Mexican Peso is worth more than the US Dollar.
