What are your current gun/gun related projects

Working on an AR here, just saving up my hobby funds for the upper got the lower all done. With a 2yr old and a 11y.o. in every school activity you can think of kind of slows down some progress.

Also thinking of picking up one of those hybrid holster kits from old faithful holsters, those look nice and not too difficult to work on. But if anyone would like to float me some extra cash and spare time I will pick up a few other projects :neener:

Building the mythical Remington 1740, but saving that for next year given the price.

In the short term, building a bayonet mount for my Benelli Nova. As why, I think it would be amusing.

Same here, trying to decide which parts to buy for my FrankenAR build and then doing a price search to see how much I'm gonna end up spending...

Building a cowboy gunbelt and holster,,,

I purchased a Heritage 22 revolver as a graduation gift for a friend of mine,,,
We've been going shooting for over a year now,,,
It's time she owns her own firearm.

Her Alma Mater is Oklahoma State University,,,
We are the Cowboys and out mascot is Pistol Pete,,,
I decided that a single-action revolver is very appropriate,,,
Besides it is more for a fun gun than for any type of protection.

I figure when she is ready to get her carry permit,,,
She can choose her own self defense pistol.

Anyways she will get a traditional style gunbelt,,,
The holster is of early 20th century "Texas Jock Strap" style,,,
And instead of sewing a bunch of bullet loops I decided on a tooled belt pouch.

Basically she'll have a custom tooled rig valued at about $450.00,,,
For a cowboy revolver that only cost about $165.00,,,
But she will look real fine at the range. ;)

You probably should NOT waste your money on a Full choke for 00 Buckshot. Modified max. Maybe try some of that Tru-Flite type stuff for your

Thanks for the advice.
Although I own a number of shotguns I'm not really that into shotguns.

It does seem I heard years ago that too tight a choke can be counterproductive with larger buckshot and cause it to spread.

I'll try the modified first and I'll look for Tru-Flite. :)

Found the original stock & fore end for my Mossberg 500 18.5" bbl 12ga when I moved a few weeks ago, so I think I'll put them back on this week. When I bought it, I immediately removed them and put on front and back pistol grips. Looked really cool, but my wrists have always hated shooting that gun. Going back to the original.

I just ordered the Archangel stock for my Mosin Nagant. I think they look super cool and it was only 145 on Buds. After getting a scope mount etc. the whole thing (including the Mosin) should be about $400. (Pretty good since I'm trying to save up my $$ for a long range AR as a Xmas present)

Now all I have to do is start another "how accurate is the mosin nagant" thread! :D

I currently am working on a Frankengun AR, it was supposed to be a retrobuild A1 rifle but I bought a lower that has some designs in it so it wont look right, so I'm just going to put parts together and see what I get.

I am also trying to restore my old Fukar .45 muzzleloader, I last shot it the summer before my daughter was born and I just wiped it down and threw it in the closet:( .she is almost 13.

And I have to build a new reloading room cause I gave my old one up as a bedroom for my little sister.

And 15 minutes ago my wife caught me looking at the Archangel mosin kit...she said not till after Christmas, so that may mean I need to be looking for another mosin :)

#1 adding a threaded barrel to a Ruger SR22 pistol

#2 Two 10-22s being turned into Appleseed Rifles

#3 AR-15 SPR build.... 18"barrel,rifle length gas system

Fella's;

Making improvements to the personal range. Concrete benches & a gravel pad underneath. Hopefully with a three-sided shed by this time next year.

Oh, and the mount points for the 50K volt electric fence to keep the cattle from turning the shed into kindling. I may host the entire site to a hamburger fry.

I've got a one foot square piece of 1/2 inch thick AR500 steel that I need to get a couple more chain links welded to the back of.

Then next time I'm out at a buddy's house I'm going to string it up between some big ole trees across "The Swamp" and make it go "DING!" a lot!

:D

I'm gonna refurbish a Marlin 30/30 that I got cheap. Beat up wood, good metal. Winter project coming soon.

I have an original M1875 Springfield Officers Model Trapdoor that I would love to hear it go "bang". However, due to its value, I don't want to chance shooting it with a full load, so I decided to see if I could make up some kind of insert to shoot .22 LR.
Here is the result.... (I haven't taken it to the range yet, but I don't expect target accuracy...:p. Maybe I should stick to shot shells....)

I spent the evening modifying a cross draw, shoulder holster to use it with my XDM .40 3.8.

While still awaiting my Queensland firearm possession license, I brought a Bansner lightweight stock and a KEBCO lightweight recoil pad down with my move and have a VX-II and Talley lightweights coming. I will bed/fit it all to a polished up Zastava stainless steel "Mauser" 30-06 (or 264 Win...) and have a pretty bulletproof reliable piece for my escapades here and in New Zealand.

What are your current projects?

Too many, and more to come;
1) Completing the M90 CAWS (Ithaca M37) build (almost there!)
2) Completing the AR70 build (just a little more welding!)
3) Completing the Steyr M95 50 Alaskan build
4) Finishing my Remington 700 stock, finally
5) Completing the Skorparev (scratch design/build)
6) Completing the STGW57 build
7-10) Starting the Swedish K, PPSH, VZ26, and Suomi builds
11) Starting the BM59 Alpini build
12) Probably a Steyr M34 at some point
13) Other stuff yet unforeseen (belt fed? :banghead:)

*sigh* At least I'm still a young man :D

We really need a Builders' section in Gunsmithing ;)

Currently on a chopped up 91/30. Russian red Mannlicher stock and 16.5" barrel. Trying to decide what to finish the metal with... And whether to scout scope it or use irons.

I currently have a couple of projects, both on rifles.

On is an AR15 build, about 90% done, just missing the barrel. The other is sporterizing a Yugo SKS with a Tapco T6 stock. The SKS is basically done, I just need to add some accesories like a better stock and possibly a scope mount.

Just recently finished this one for now. Bought it on a Saturday Sept 5th, the following day after church I had it torn apart doing some tinkering and worked up a sub sonic load for it. Monday I took a hog with it right off the bat as I did also on the following Wednesday and Friday.
Saturday out of the box, a Rem 700 AAC-SD 300 Blackout....

Sunday it looked like this after reworking the trigger, making and installing a bigger bolt knob, swapping stocks....

To this on Monday, pffft, thud, flop....

To this last week, fluted the barrel and Duracoated the barreled action.

Changing out the scope on a 1966 Remington 760, adding an Uncle Mikes Sling swivel, removing the front site, adding a sling and a ammo sleeve.

Exciting.

I have 2 AR upper/lower receiver combo's sitting in the safe. Gonna make one a 20" AR in .223 and the other most likely another 6.8 SPC. Already built 5 in the last 2 years and figured I'd plus up the calibers I already have. Already have AR's in .223 (x2), 6.8 SPC, 300 Blackout, and 7.62x39
