I want to get some new grips for my Ruger SP101 . I have the stock ones on there now . I havent seen very many that get my attention . So lets see what kinda grips is on your SP101's !!!!!

I like the hogue monogrip. Had it on mine for a few years. Not as good as the stockers for concealment, but they really do help tame the recoil from the mag loads.

I like the Hogue Monogrip as well, in both rubber and wood.

I actually find them better for concealment than the stock grips. They are a tad longer, but the end of the grip is narrow whereas the stock grips end at a wide point. So I find that the stock grips make a noticeable bump in the back of the shirt where the monogrips are more subtle.

And a pic just for good measure:

I have the Hogue Monogrip in rubber. Made a huge difference in the overall feel of the gun and the recoil. Definitely worth $20.

Thanks TMann!

There is a gentleman from northern Maine who hand makes these inserts and sells them on E-Bay. If you type in "SP101" into the E-Bay search bar they should pop up. I would highly recommend them!

i think i want the Hogue monogrips . But i dont see how they attach . Where is the screw hole ?

I like the stock grips but also like the now discontinued Uncle Mike's boot grips. They are more "banana shaped" and smaller than the Hogue's. They are particularly nice on the bobbed-hammer version, IMO.

Uncle mikes boot grips seem to be discontinued and look awesome . Cant find them on ebay  Damn!!!!
They look as good as the Hogues but are smaller. Just what I want . Just cant find them .

The stock grips are good, but a little small for me, The Hogues are a little too big for CCW for me.
The Pachmayr Compacs are JUST Right...

Your best bet is to post some "WTB"s on a few sites...That was how I found a set of Uncle Mikes grips for my HighPower.
Too bad the Uncle Mikes are no longer available...I like them better than Pachs or Hogues. I am currently looking for a set of Uncle mikes in the S&W K frame size.

I put a Hogue wood grip with one finger groove on mine. The Hogues mount from the bottom with a screw through the bottom of the grip to answer the question.

These hogue grips work the best IMO, not as pretty as wood but feel great.

DO the Hogue Monogrips stay on very secure to the gun considering that you dont use the regular factory screw hole ?

Yes, the Hogue grips are very secure.

WOW! The rubber Hogue grips really reduce felt recoil.

Just my luck.:banghead:

I shoot better Bullseye scores with the old stock rubber grips than the Hogue rubber grips that came with my GP100's.....

....and better Bullseye scores with the rubber Hogue grips on my SP101 than the stock rubber grip that came on it.
