What made you choose your last handgun??

I wanted something capable of taking medium sized game at a medium to long range. After some research and asking a couple questions to the experts on the THR I decided. Went with the T/C Encore handgun in .308 win and a 15" barrel. Its all I asked for a then some.

Price of $350. Dam Wesson 4" stainless .41mag with the tools and soft case.

Was not a gouge price like most stuff I've been seeing. I have a moderate stash of ammo for it.

I liked the uniqueness of the caliber and somewhat rarity and features of the gun.

Wanted it as a hunting backup where black bear and cougars are present but also controlable enough, practical to use against predatory humans as well.

My last purchase was a Ruger sp101 in .357. and I bought it because it was there. I went in to buy a J-frame but the seller only had .38 special in stock and I didn't want to wait. The only available pocket .357 they had was the sp101 I walked out with.

I'm a addict

My addiction and paranoia are fueled by the political and economical events now occuring. MAYBE I'M JUST USING THAT TO HIDE MY ADDICTION? I've bought 6 SD handguns since feb 2. WOW (sold 2 long guns and 1 of the 6 SD handguns).

I gave a S&W MP compact 9mm to my wife and a S&W 642 to my daughter. Put a S&W 442 in my left front pocket. A very nice 2" M10 and Ruger 101 are just hanging out at home.

The last is a 1880's Iver Johnson 38 S&W (just like the one that started my addiction 50 + years ago). Please don't offer help.

Walther P99AS - 9mm - because I wanted to

Have a G17 and a G19 - bought a NIB Walther because I wanted to. And it shot the same ammo as my two Glocks. Walther has a better trigger, adjustable backstraps, adjustable rear sight and a built-in decocker. Frankly, I get better hit accuracy out of my Glocks than I do with the Walther. The Walther front post sight just doesn't cut it well enough for me.

Went looking for another Ruger mkIII, since MrsBFD and I are tired of arguing over the one we have, and would rather share magazines/parts than get yet another platform to learn.

So what made me buy the one after that was the annoyance of not finding a mkIII in stock in a configuration I wanted.
I had to drive an hour, but I got GM to price-match and throw in some goodies on the exact mkIII I wanted [5.5" bull barrel]

Feel, control, accuracy and relieability. Relieability being the number one requirement. My CCW is a Springfield XD40 sub compact, the most relieable weapon I have ever owned. It has never failed to fire for any reason.

The gun on the prize table was a 686+ with 6" barrel. I already have one of those so I wanted a "real" six shooter and traded it for the M66 someone else had taken from the table.

Can't afford the things otherwise.

I was at a gun show and saw a used S & W model 64 with a 3 inch barrel. I had a couple S & W 38's, but this had stag-horn grips. Also the former owner had the performance center of S & W perform their Combat Revolver Package on it and had them engrave performance center on the barrel under the caliber markings. The upgrades and the grips sold it.

I love it

Kahr P45.
Because I wanted a .45 that is thin enough to conceal easily yet big enough to be able to get all my fingers on the grip.
I don't want external safetys on my carry guns.
I have a Kahr PM9 that has been flawless.
I have been reloading .45ACP for many years and have a good supply of components ready to work up loads tuned to it.
To make my Glocks jealous!

I chose my most recent (it won't be my last!) because of the sheer coolness of it. It's an M1917 S&W that's in great condition. I wasn't looking for one but I fell in love with the pictures. Now, if only there was some .45 ACP ammo available....

Due to the current shortage of amo and the price of that which is available, i bought a surplus tokarev since the ammo is both cheap and plentiful! Now i can continue to happily shoot copius amounts of ammo while others deal with this sillyness.
