What rifle/cartridge combination did you use on deer this year.

I tend to grab a different rifle out of the safe every year and use it the entire season. This year it's a Rem. 700 Classic in .30-06.

1901 Danzig Mauser, 170 gr. Speer powered by Varget.

I shot 1 buck and 2 does this year using my Stevens Model 200 chambered in 308 caliber... I used 165 grain Sierra spitZer boat tails over 44 grains of Varget... I recently zero'd my rifle with some 165 grain Nosler ballistic tips so if I take another one it will be with those.. It's been a fun year hunting for me since I was able to take both my young children and they got to see several deer... Life is good...

Shot with an LR308 at 400yds. I thought it was a doe.

Shot with my favorite deer gun a 20ga H&R UltraSlugger (258yds and 40yds respectively) The second my oldest was in on with her grandpa's old High Standard 20ga. Nothing like doubling with your kid!
