Raven .25 auto for $30

cheapest new gun, Jenning J-22 for $50 about 10 years ago.

Securing a license to own a gun is too much hassle, and a drain in the pocket.

I'd rather save up for a quality piece, than experiment with cheap models.

Though I'm always in the lookout for quality "bargains" in the second hand market. Might never know... ;)

A 1970-ish Ruger Standard about a year ago. Bought it from a pawn shop for $75 because it was "an unreliable POS". Took it home and cleaned it, which from the looks of it had never been done, and haven't had a single problem in something like 4,000 rounds.

'64 E.German Makarov.I had loaned a buddy $60 to pay a traffic ticket. He said he had an old cheap gun that uses "some funky kinda ammo"and that if I wanted it for collateral it was ok with him.So I took it.Two months later he lost his job, said he was leaving town and I could keep the gun since he had no money or intention of paying me back.

$35.00 for a Raven while I was in college. I wanted something cheap that I could go shoot. Nice idea, til I found out how much ammo cost...

And yep, mine was and is a POS.

Taurus PT22 , sent it back once and getting ready to send it back again after about 500 hundred or less total rounds it is once again failing to fire and feed... too bad because otherwise it would be a great BUG

Bought a new Auto-Ordnance 1911 .45 about ten years ago, that was about the most ill fitting, inaccurate, jam-a-matic :cuss: I've ever owned. Maybe I just got a bad example. I traded it for a Smith snub .38 that ran like a clock.

I picked up a CZ-100 in .40, private sale, for $100. The pistol is in good shape, with just some bluing wear on the adjustable rear sight. Came with the CZ hard case, manual, and two mags. It is perfectly reliable, compact and lightweight, though ugly as sin. The trigger pull is long, but relatively light. Recoil is a little snappy, but easy to control.

I admit to being unsure what to do with it. I carry a Commander, and use same for home defense. After shooting the CZ, girlfriend also still prefers 1911-style guns, and will appropriate Commander after my new 5" pistol is ready. Daughter likes .22 Browning. Can't shoot the CZ in IDPA 'cause the barrel is (factory) ported.

But a decent modern pistol for $100? I couldn't turn it down.

Between Cslinger and myself...

An HS-2000 (currently Springfield XD going for aroung $450) for $280.00. Worth every penny and more.

I have a Tanfoglio Targa .380 sitting in the safe I picked up through an estate for $80. It's in nice shape, and probably was made in the 60's. Someday I need to find out if it actually works or not! Still can't figure out why I bought it.

Haven't gone too cheap yet. Got a S&W model 37 for $150 and just recently a new Bulgarian Makarov for $169. I almost bought a Jennings or a Bryco but then I found a forum! :)

15 bucks for a rossi .38 special with a 3 inch barrel.

This gun was unique because it had no cylinder release
you had to unscrew the pin running through the cylinder
and use it to manually knock out the fired cases.

I ended up giving it to my neighbor who had fixed my water heater.

I paid $150 for a .44 magnum Ruger Redhawk 8" in perfect condition with an extra set of houge grips and a case.

Sold it a little while later.

$125 for a Bulgarian Makarov. "Cheap" in this case only refers to price. It's the most reliable semiauto pistol I've ever shot (compared with 2 BHPs and a CZ-85, for example).

$85 for a "Secret Service Special" top-break .38 S&W made by Iver johnson. Sweet gun, accurate, 85% condition. My birthday gun one year.

$99 for an older Taurus M-82 .38 Special revolver with tired bluing, about 855 condition. My ultimate 'sleeper' gun. Has the best trigger of any revolver I've got, and is one of the most accurate I own, hands down.

Just lucky, I guess. :D
