How about traded for.

I was trying to sell a truck to someone and we where
$100.00 off on price. We were not going to get there
so he through in a RG 14s in 22lr. and we called it even.
It was the first pistol I ever owned. I still have it. I would
be ashamed to try and sell it. It might be worth $25.00
to someone I guess.

75 cents for a .22 revolver when I was 18. A guy couldn't pay his parking lot fee. Well worn out, and it fired "sometimes." Took it to the police to have them check it out. It was "clean" according to them. Don't remember the manufacturer, but it wasn't a name brand.

Well, I my Makarov was $120. And I paid $99 for a Phoenix Arms HP22 that I gave to my mother and my current one cost me a whopping $115. Never had a failure of any kind with any of these three.

Also have a Ruger Single Six that was given to me in lieu of being paid for some computer work. I guess that would make it the cheapest. But I didn't technically buy it.

Goood Gun

I bought a Phoenix Arms HP22 10 years ago. It was one of the best guns I ever bought. It was only $85. I am sure I have over 5,000 rounds through it.

Lately I bought a Steyr M40 for only $299,that was a steal of a deal it is at least as nice as any Glock if not better with the extra safety features

A Jennings .22. It was pretty accurate at it's intended use distances. Ultimately, it just rattled apart.

Bought a "Clerke Manufacturing" [was that the name?] .32 pot-metal throwing weapon for $30 from a buddy that needed money. The 3 boxes of ammo were probaly worth more than that chunk of zinc loosely called a pistol. Next worst buy was a 22LR/22Mag SAA knockoff called a "Buffalo Scout". Don't remember the maker, but in 1983 it was $69 at Wally World.

NAA mini .22.
I try not to buy cheap guns. I'd rather save up for a quality firearm.
That's what I'm doing now, :D

Recently? An HS Double 9 Western .22LR 9-shot revolver for $60

Way back when? A Stoeger .22LR Luger for $49.95 in 1967. Sold it in 1973 for $35 when I was going to Germany. Biggest mistake I ever made!

The least expensive new handgun I bought was a Ruger Standard from a hardware store in Sacramento for $37.50.

But I won't say when I bought it!

$50 for a NIB Ruger Mk I from a gun shop. Of course, that was the going price in 1971.

Cheapest ever owned.: Jennings .22 POS. Dirty bad. Icky. Bought about 10 years ago, disposed of a couple years later. No longer owned. About $75, if I remember right.

Cheap as in quality, or price?

I paid $200 for a Ruger Secuirty Six...does that count as 'cheap'?
:p
Love the gun, by the way. 2 3/4 inch bbl, and I put 3 rounds into a 3" group at 7 yards yesterday...center mass...its my favorite self defense gun I've ever owned!

back in high school, i bought a davis 380 at a pawn shop it was ~80 bucks. just yesterday, bought a hi-point 9mm compact and will take it to the range soon.

In 2004 dollars? This is a key point, as I paid $205 for a NIB Walther PP in .22LR from a dealer. That was in 1975, of course. Paid even less for a NIB High Standard .22Mag 9-shot revolver as I recollect. The Walther would cost upwards of $900+ at Earl's today, IIRC.

It's all relative. "Inexpensive" is different than "cheap". I can honestly say that the "cheapest" handgun I ever bought was a .380 AMT backup, when I was working the street and they were the 'latest' thing. Pretty worthless, IMVHO. Several 'better' alternatives available, even then, at around the same price, which I can't even remember now. I only kept it a couple of months, but I was a trading fool back then. One of the few guns I ever traded out of that left me with no regrets. YMMV.

$199 for a new Firestar Plus just after Interarms stopped importing them . Great little pistol , I wouldn't mind still having it .

I agree that there is a huge difference between inexpensive and cheap . I personally would never own a Lorcin , Davis etc but would buy a CZ52 or Makarov for around the same money , they just aren't available here .

$50 for a Colt PP that found it's way back home after service in the RHKP. Finish worn, but shot like it was brand new.

The cheapest gun I ever bought was a Taurus P-132 millinium for my wife. It was a piece of junk. Sent it back to Taurus to have it fixed and a few months later after a few calls to the BBB it finally came back. Not fixed.
Taurus is horrible.
