What is the most recent knife you bought?

I’ve developed a real affinity for finger choils. I rarely even consider something without one at this point.

I like a minimal sharpening choil but lately everything I buy has a finger choil. There’s no denying their utility.

I can’t stop fiddling with this thing. By the way the fuller works for the middle finger flick open also. Or spydey flick as some call it.

The “Spydie” flick is probably the most fun of all opening methods. I mostly buy backlock knives and it takes a special touch to Spydie flick them, though I typically just like to roll them open. It reminds me of the trigger on a DA revolver, which is my favorite action. Constant tactile feedback throughout the entire motion.

You ever play with a WE knives Blocao? I need me one of those back locks. It’s always been my favorite lock style.

The Blocao can bite you though.

I haven’t even seen one. I’m off to check it out!

ETA - Dang that thing’s a beast! 4.2 inch blade. Love the marbled carbon fiber.

Winter has been tough. Got these five new knives the last couple weeks. From left to right Badger, Profero, Castillo, Cold Steel, and Byrd. The Cold Steel has the least quality. Blade is loose, no liner, the side lock doesn’t engage unless you wiggle the blade. Feels cheap. While the Castillo feels best for quality. The others are all good. Two more on the way. 63EE1010-E705-4D45-92BA-865C4F23C57E.jpeg D171E29F-57D4-4CBC-BC93-7F7F1907B48A.jpeg DE7880B7-ECE9-4E49-B7B0-C28336E84E46.jpeg

When you first look at this thing it seems really busy and overly complex. Then you realize it’s a very simple design with fancy milling.

I think this thing is sweet. 3.25 inches of m390. All titanium everything. Feels extremely comfortable in my hand. Hair popping sharp out of the box. No blade play, centered, and the action is great. Ummm…… might be my new favorite.

Bestech Vigil. Kombou design. I ordered one the day WMK had them listed.

That's funny... I was going to ask if the knife actually looks that good, or did you just photograph it well. :)

This literally just arrived, not a high end EDC knife but it works for me. The Smith & Wesson ExtremeOps knife.
The knife is a little tight getting open but I'm sure I can fix that. It's also a little smaller and lighter than my other cheapie EDC knife.

That one ended up getting exchanged, it was difficult to open and close, a QC issue. The replacement arrived today and functions perfectly.

This one arrived also.........

My dad passed away back in 2015, I got his 2003 Dodge Ram truck as part of my inheritance. I know I went through it before but something made me look in the middle console storage, haven't in a long time. Found this Gerber 600 buried in there.

Been lots of good noise about the Chaves knives. I’ve been unable to find the larger ones at original prices.

They just seem to keep going up. I decided to get the little TAK instead when it was introduced last year, but the online stores have been out of stock.

They generally go for $375-400. So when I actually saw one available and at $350 shipped I pulled the trigger.

It’s quite simple and the sharpness is a notch above most of my knives.

But to be honest, I think the nicer knives from China like We, Artisan, Kizer, etc are a better value.

The trouble with modern knives is that they are durable goods and as soon as you buy one, a better one is released! I have a cigar box full of nice folders that I figured out at $25 per knife represented more than $400, but I still lust after stuff like the button lock Civivi Elementum. I would not need a new knife for at least 20 years, but I still have to check out the websites periodically. Oh well, at least I am not hooked on Case or Queen City knives. Yet.
