What is the most recent knife you bought?

This one. Carothers Kephart in what they call Delta 3V. The Delta is a reference to a proprietary heat treat they use. It is supposed to be super tough and still take and hold an edge. Scales are natural micarta. Carothers knives are very well regarded on another knife site I frequent. I'm the second owner but the knife is unused. I'm not much of a fan of the superduty kydex sheath so I have a custom leather sheath on order.

Man, I felt sorry for the concrete block! Can you imagine someone hacking on you like that!:what:
The Kephart is the same steel but with a different grind (flat) and thinner blade profile. I'd never try anything like that with it. I'm 100% certain though, that it will stand up to the very normal use that I give knives and stay sharp for a long long time. The factory edge is 20 degrees per side which to me should be pretty stable. I sharpen most of my knives to 15 degrees per side and get along well with it.

Not a knife but it is a bladed tool; got a CRK&T Berserker Viking Axe!

I'm from Scandinavian stock and love Viking weapons, stories and mythology. Though I am in my early 50's, I've always been an axe man due to my love of Tolkien and the world he created.

It did not come sharp but it did get an edge without much fuss. It has excellent balance and is about 2lbs. Steel is 1055 hc, handle is hickory. I found this in a Cabelas for $60.

Here is an interesting one. It’s a Spyderco Meerkat, which according to Sal at Spyderco, won’t be made any longer. It has a Phantom Lock, which you operate by sliding the scales to unlock the back lock.

I have one of those, purchased from way back in the day... I have it pictured (below) with a few of my other small knives (left to right: Navigator, Mouse 1, Lava, Meerkat, and Dodo; Cricket and Wenger Esquire beneath)...

In general, I like the scissor-lock concept... Seems very secure, and is intuitively manipulated just in the course of holding the knife. I can see a downside in that the pinching force needed to activate it might be tough for someone with arthritic fingers, or possibly in extreme cold.

A year or two ago I got a similar tool from CRKT. I picked up their Woods Chogan T-Hawk at the local Academy Sporting Goods.

I quick picture after I made a sheath for the blade. It lives under the back seat of my truck along with a handful of other tools.

Got a Lion Steel SR22a knife. Black aluminum handles. Came with a small wrench to switch the clip from one side to the other. Had a glass breaker point on the end. I don’t really like those. Quality is good. Sturdy build. Can’t flip it out with just your finger. Have to also flick your wrist.

Bestech Tonic landed today. Very cool design and many thanks to @460Shooter for the heads up. The fit and finish is excellent and it has a really curious backlock. There is a detent ball in the backlock that engages the tang after the knife is raised about 1/2 inch. It creates additional resistance that, once overcome, launches the blade out with authority. Very cool and unique lock. The knife has a very comfortable and subtle finger choil as well. The bevels aren’t quite even from heel to tip and side to side but that’s the case on most production knives. I’m going to sharpen it later this evening or tomorrow so that doesn’t matter to me at all.

I like that knife steadyd.
Thank you kind sir. I can feel that there is a small burr on one side. I’m going to whittle with it for a bit until it loses its sharpness and then I’m going to sharpen it back up

I am not much of a knife person but I occasionally buy something just because I think it's cool. My last knife purchase was a cold steel kudu. I think it was like $8 on Amazon including shipping. I didn't expect a whole lot out of it but the thing came sharp as heck.

The reason my Amazon account says it was purchased two times was because I liked it so much I went back and got another one.

One of them sits on my kitchen table and the other one is in my car.
