What Would You Buy?

Depends upon the contents (or lack of contents) of my collection. Were I starting from scratch it would be toward utility and versatility.

Used Marlin 60 .22 $ 75 - $ 100
Used snubby .38 Charter arms or similar $ 225 - $ 300
Used Mossy 500 or Remington 870 $ 150 - $ 200
Used Mossy/Savage/Stevens/etc 30-06 $ 225 - $ 300
ttl $ 675 - $ 900

Spend the rest on ammo

Now if you have a nice collection already then just fill in the blanks, OR get what you want.

Im pleasantly surprised at how many times wheelguns were mentioned in this thread.

For me, either a S&W M627 in .357, or a Ruger GP100 in .357 ; I cant make my mind up on this one. Next, a Marlin 336 .30-30. Then, a Mossberg or Remington 12ga. pump, and a Remington bolt action .22LR. I'd have a plain, yet nice, simple collection. Pretty much all my bases would be covered.

First off what are your intentions? Is it for self defense? Conceal carry? is it to just have fun? Do you visualize needing a rifle? Before making this decision answer these questions first. If you believe you may need or want two weapons then there are some very good ones out there such as Charles Daly which are affordable and shoot well. If you only want one and look to spend it all Think about a .45 ACP Kimber. Other than that I wouldn't know what to advise you on.

i would buy a couple more xd service models in .40s&w to go along with the one that i already have. too bad that taking a training course wasn't an option!:)

Used Savage 110 in .30-06(300-400)
Used Mossberg 500(200)
Used 10/22(100-175)
Used GP100 SS 4"(350-500)

Low end is 950, spend the rest on ammo
High end is 1275, eat ramen for the rest of the month

Colt XSE commander light weight in .38 super and a bunch of magazines or a S&W model 57? .41 mag. For my dad for his birthday. My father has owned literaly hundreds of guns and those are the only ones he ever regreted selling.

I would get a CETME and I would put the rest into a nice S&W Model 10.

But if you had the time and know how, I would get everything to build another AR-15, $1100.00 cash in hand would build a nice gun, fast. Yes I know you already have one or two, but do you have 7?:D

I wish that I had nothing but wheelguns at this point. If I could start again I would concentrate on them exclusively. Twenty round mags don't do a thing for me any longer.

If I didn't have any guns, or had mainly recreational guns, and needed to make sure I was reasonably well armed, I'd make sure I got my hands on a rifle and a pistol.

I'd get an older battle rifle that is well-made, rock-solid reliable, accurate, and for which surplus ammo can be found cheaply enough to practice and stockpile. To wit:

A really clean FN-49 in 8mm (Egyptian contract) can be had for between $600 and $700. I got mine for closer to $600.

I would then use the remaining $400-$500 to get a rock-solid reliable, "full" size, high-capacity pistol in a widely available caliber, to wit:

NIB Glock 17s and CZ 75B Omega 9mms (of the two, I'd take the CZ) can be had on gunbroker right now for "buy it now" prices of $489 and $465, respectively. Used examples would be less expensive still, assuring compliance with the $1100 cap.

armi sport spencer carbine in 56-50 I see them from time to time for $999

My list (All S&Ws BTW)
SW9VE Allied Forces (9mm) $350.00
910s (9mm) $396.00
M&P357 (.357) $524.00
*All prices are from budsgunshop.com

I would just make up the $70 that I'm over.
