Sigh...there's just no help for stupidity. Big, bad, high capacity 'assault weapons' ---riiiiight. And this something new? Want too see what I can do with an M1 Garand or an M14 at 500 yards, which is beyond the range of many of the 'assault weapons'? Crying about rifles that can bust a bulletproof vest? They are a dime a dozen--heck, any old caliber rifle from the 308 on up can easily do that. The good thing is that this guy is so patently stupid that only the liberal left wing idiots will listen too him. The bad thing is that the paper publishes his nonsense!

We better get use to it. The left wing is looking to take both Houses as well as the White House. If that happens there will be more and more of these articles. Not only on the 2A but all of them. One by one we will lose everything.

I have to disagree that the "left wing" has the lock on wanting to take away our rights. The Bush administration has been one of the worst offenders of our civil liberties in our history. The conservatives have in recent history been leaders of the police state mentality. Remember that the Brady's were part of the Reagan administration & are very conservative in all other respects. Guiliani, Romney, McCain & the Gunshow Act (joined with Lieberman - Independent now I believe - good riddance), etc.

I think you would be surprised at the percentage of liberals who support our gun rights (me being one of them) along with the overwhelming majority who believe in every other right in the BoR.


That being said, the guy who wrote the article is an id...ahem...mentally challenged.

I can penetrate a wall and door with my fist or foot, and cars don't offer much protection either.

They flip them. Sell them out of car trunks at twice the price to gangbangers, drug dealers and armed robbers who want to upgrade to cop killers. Sell them to felons. Sell them to kids. Sell them to certifiably crazy people as long as crazy people can ante up a cold three grand.

So, he acknowledges that an illegal black market exists, and suggests that laws making it double-super-illegal will stop it?

Wow, if cops are being outgunned I think the next step up is M60's or M249's (whichever caliber tickles their fancy). Maybe even .50 machineguns. That should make the gangsters run as their cars are turn into a smoldering heap by one machinegun. Then we arm the lawful citizens with the assult rifles, helping to stop crime at the source (because if you're lucky, the police are at your house in 10 minutes).

The stupid thing is that if you want to make the job of police officers safer, the easiest way to do it is to have fewer criminals.
That can be accomplished a number of ways and "assault weapons" could be an instrumental part of making that happen.
