Whats in your range bag?

I'm ordering a good bit of ammo so while at it, I just assume get everything else I need to save on the shipping.

I have some S&W eyes and I'm getting some ears (some reg ones that have a 35 db reduction)

What else do you put in your range bag?
 
In my shooting cart:
  • Ammo, usually ~50 rounds more than I need for the day in case I need to reshoot or something.
  • Magazines - four to six at least.
  • Ear protection - Peltor muffs and foam ear plugs, lots of the latter in case someone needs plugs.
  • Safety glasses.
  • Pens, Sharpie markers, pencils, small flat tip screwdriver.
  • Allen wrenches for adjusting the trigger in my AR.
  • Mini clipboard for score card.
  • AR15 front sight tool.
  • Sight smoker.
  • Shooting glove.
  • Spare sling.
  • Spare chamber flags.
  • NRA high power rifle rule book.
  • Log book.
That's about it, plus or minus things that I think I may need that day.

Just going to shoot pistols or shotgun, I use a small tote bag with ammo and eyes and ears.
 
I shoot an indoor pistol range, so...

little sticky orange dots for targets
Sharpie
little bottle of oil
rag (it gets hot at my range)
ears
eyes
little foamy earplugs (for if lots of folks are there)
leatherman
allen wrenches
pistols, ammo, magazines
and...
CANDY

Because everything's better if you have some CANDY.

After I got in the no-see-ums I got my first and only M1 thumb. Both in the same day. That's when I started carrying the above.

I carry a compact M 16 cleaning rod. It's stout enough to use for other chores besides cleaning.
 
During daylight savings time we shoot at night, so I have several small flashlights and back-up batteries.
 
I pack it for whatever I'm shooting. The one thing that always goes is toilet paper. I always head out to the range early in the mornings way before my "morning movement" so, I usually have to pinch one off by the time I get there.

Well since I can pretty much shoot out my backdoor , all I have in my range bag are all my spare/extra holsters :uhoh:
 
lots of tools
ducttape
bug spray
sunblock
hat
ear muffs+ plugs for friends who forget em.
sharpie markers
paper
cleaning stuff
gun specific things- ammo, magazines, bipods.


then i take a backpack full of other things
change of clothes if im going anywhere nice later
extra sweater
extra socks
water
some sort of snack

and since i usually shoot in the hills and have to off road a bit to get there
pick and shovel
cooler full of soda(doubles as a stool)
table and seat for each person coming with me
canopy for shade
targets= water jugs, sodas, metal things.

i probably forgot things. make fun of me for bringing everything i do, but hey, i like to be comfy.

EDIT: oh, yeah, always bring tp and paper towels.

Uhhhh...Way, way TMI. :uhoh:

Extra earplugs, muffs, and eye protection. Lend them out, make a friend.

A towel to put down and rest my gun(s) on.

A cleaning rod to knock out a squib (never had to use it...yet).

Little orange sticky-dots. (Any old piece of cardboard or paper is now a target.)

A .22 pistol and at least 150 rounds of .22LR ammo. Regardless of what else I'm planning to shoot, a great warm-up or a chance to let someone else shoot it. Big-time grin-getter.
 
If you want some good electronic ear muffs....

go to Midway. I bought Caldwell Electronic Ear Muffs there for 29.95. I think they may be 35.00 now, but that's still a good deal. They've worked really well for me. I can hear spoken converstions just fine with them on, but when a gunshot occurs they shut down instantly.

That's about it.
 
Right now just ammo, eye and ear protection and some targets. A hollow ground screwdriver kit comes with if I am working on a new load for my Blackhawk with adjustable sights. In the summer I keep sunscreen with me just about everywhere I go. My Glock fits in the range bag in its case with the extra factory magazine. My range bag is mostly a glorified messenger bag.
 
don't forget the little white dots that they sell at wal-mart in the school supplies section they work great for covering up holes on a target so you don't have to change them out as much. i think i have them in the 3/4" size.

btw staple gun

mag carriers, holsters
extra batteries for the things that need them.
 
Shooting rest (Cadwells or whatever), spotting scope/binocs., also (but not actually in the bag) "carpet samples" or a small piece to set stuff on.
Our rifle benches have a cement top.

A "donation for new gun" jar. :evil:

About 4-600 rounds of misc. caliber. Ive never shot more than 600 in one trip.
Ear muffs and rubber reusable plugs. I always double up.
Extra glasses and foam plugs. Never know when someone might need them.
At least 1 gun. I always bring some kind of gun to the range.

Someone to carry my bag. For some reason shooting is just not as fun alone.



I really dont need much else. I go. I buy targets on the way. I take one or more of my guns out. I shoot for a couple of hours or untill whomever Im shooting with has to go. I leave. Ive never seen anyone cleaning, fixing or loading at the range. Its strictly shoot or sit on a bench and watch someone else shoot where Ive been.
 
Other than the obvious stuff:
My extra pair of glasses (I shoot with my prescription glasses off, and people have sat on them before. Well, not at the range, but still...)
Sunscreen (I'm Irish, the sun hates me...)
Either Off or Skin-so-soft, depends on the time of year.
Spare key to the car (JUST ONCE, NEVER AGAIN...)
Extra battery for my cell phone.
Mini first aid kit.

Basically, everything that I take with me on a day hike.
