This year I skipped bucks but shot a few doetags. Still shooting for a couple more weeks. First doe this year was with a 1903A3 and Greek HXP FMJ. I was about 100 yards out shooting offhand. CMP order gun. Second doe was from a tower and chair with a Eddystone P17 bought from the CMP North store. Used HXP again. Third doe was with a 1937 K98 Mauser WWII bringback. Someone took the rear sight off and installed a Lyman peep. Used S&B 8mm softpoints. Fourth doe was with a Krag 30-40 bought off Gunbroker. Fifth doe was with an 1891 Argentine Cavalry Mauser Carbine 7.65. I shot handloads. It's a Mesquite gunshow rifle bought a couple of years back. Last year was: Garand M1 Carbine K31 Swiss 7.5 Japanese T44 6.5X50 type III Carbine. Swedish M38 6.5. Argentine 1909 Carbine in 7.65. Ruger #1. You can kill deer with almost anything. I can't decide what is next. Maybe a 1895 Chilean Mauser Carbine.
