My two Ruger MkIIs are the most-used pistols I own. I warm up for a session of shooting a semi-auto with one of them. Also use them to introduce a new shooter to the sport.
My S&W M-18 is a gem, but only gets used when I am warming up for a revolver session...which happens only occasionally.

Hello friends and neighbors // raveneap , That is a beauty.

I had forgotten how slim they are with factory grips.
Did it come with the extra mag? I need to search one out.

Surprisingly accurate for a 4" Luger and with the Federal ammo no jams. The fellow gave me Rem. LRN with the handgun, I think he had jamming problems and just wanted to get what he paid for it.

I like my Phoenix 22a because its inexpensive, pocket sized, accurate and has been very reliable

^+1

Also, for the 1911 lovers, the Llama .22 mini 1911 is a lot of fun!

Even though I prefer revolvers in every other .22 instance, my favorite .22 is a semi, the old Whitney Wolverine. It's totally reliable, very accurate, eats any ammo, and has a trigger to die for. I think it's the coolest looking gun ever made. It's the only semi .22 I own.

Otherwise, I'm an H&R revolver fan. I like old 922s or a 929s for utility purposes and a convertible 676 for shooting enjoyment. It's a tack driver and it's DA:

Oh yeah, Whitneys....

larryh1108, how big is that Llama .22?

And, while I'm asking ...
is it reliable?
does it take down like a 1911?
would you buy it again?
can magazines be found?

Ruger MkIII Hunter. 4 power scope. With Stingers it shoots half inch groups at 50 yards all day long.

I like my buckmark---It's super accurate.

I took my Colt Ace (45 acp frame with a 22 cal slide) shooting yesterday--I forgot how
accurate it is.............

For accuracy and plinking, my S&W Model-17.
For just a little sumpin-sumpin to drop in my pocket, I really like my Beretta Model-21A. It eats about anything I feed it and is surprisingly accurate for a pocket pistol. I usually carry it loaded up with CCI Stingers.

Semi-Autos are #1 with me. My favorite is old Ruger Mk II Gov’t Target Model.
#2. Is my Ruger Single-Six with a 6 5/8” barrel.
#3. Is my K-22 kit gun.

I just joined the Buckmark club with a Hunter. Haven't fired it yet, but only one problem... in addition to being a bit long for it, it's just too pretty for field use!

The thing looks like it will shoot wings off of flies. But then again all I shoot are short revolvers.

I already see I'll have to get a lower end model just for general use. Probably a stainless Standard or maybe a Practical. I understand how somebody could get carried away with getting them.

I really like the original Ruger standard .22 pistol I grew up shooting and which my father gave to me when I became a young man. I've owned other Ruger .22's, including a Mk II, but that older one is still a favorite.

well i have a Taurus 941 5" 22 magnum...S&W 63 5" 22lr...S&W 617 6" 22lr...H&R 622 4" 22lr...Ruger MKII 6 7/8"...and i like em all!

Here's a picture of it next to a commander size and full size model. It's about 2/3 the size. The weight is about 21oz if I remember correctly. My .22 is very reliable. It does not like the cheap .22 ammo but prefers the HV RN ammo. If you use the HV ammo it is very reliable. My range visit last week it was 80 of 80 (I have 8-10 round mags).

I would buy it again. I always look to "steal" one on gunbroker. They go for $275-$350. Mags are always listed for about $40-$45. Since my last range visit I finished my purchase by getting 2 more mags for 100 rounds preloaded.

It's internals are just like the 1911 except it is a blow back pistol so there is no barrel link or lugs. Everything else is the same only scaled down. The weight produces minimum recoil, the trigger is set up like the 1911 and it is steel, not plastic. Yeah, many say it's a Llama so it's junk but that is their opinion. I'd own 10 if I could afford it. There are some really nice ones out there that are like new for about $350. Of course, for that price you can buy most of the 22s listed in this thread but a .22 in a 1911 design is way cool! At least, in my opinion.

again a colt woodsman, grandpa bought it, dad replaced the grips, its mine now, still 85%blue left, just keeps tickin. somewhere there is even a box of lessmoke 22 around.

My favorites are semi-autos, because that's the only kind of handgun I like, I'm just not a revolver guy. I tried it and it just wasn't for me.

My one and only .22 pistol is my ruger markIII 22/45. It's really accurate and will eat anything I feed it, what more could I ask?

I plan on getting a ISSC M22 eventually since I'm a glock fan. http://www.issc-handels-gmbh.at/m22.html

My Personal Favorite is the Ruger Single Six, stainless steel 22lr with .22 Mag cylinder. Very fun and very accurate.

Couldn't say which is my favorite. I can tell you the one that follows me out the door 95% of the time..A Magnum Research Mountain Eagle . Much lighter than a MkII. Similar characteristics and accuracy. I will buy another if I get the opportunity.

Who doesn't love a nice .22 handgun. The indoor range that I go to charges a flat rate for the lane and I can stay as long as I want. Even with my reloads I can only afford to shoot just so many .38's or 9mm's. When I'm done shooting them I take out my H&R 950 revolver, my Ruger Mark1, and a bulk pack of .22's. Then I shoot until "I'm" done and not when my wallet says enough. On my list of must have's is a Walther P22, a friend of mine lets me borrow his. It's definitely not the most accurate weapon, but it ranks high as a fun gun to shoot.
