What's Your favorite .40?

.40 in a little gun = PAIN and lots of recoil, I sold a KT P40 as I couldn't shoot it consistently, If I attempted to do quick fire, I would have a FTE from limpwristing by the second or 3rd round.

.40

I am a fairly big guy. 6' 3", 260lbs. I like my .40s, but truely they are a little snappy, even for me. As big as I am, you guys will laugh, but I much prefer a 9mm. Much better shot placement, and follow-up shot for me.

That being said, my favorite .40 is a Sig 2340. It never skips a beat. It will eat any ammo you throw at it. Round nose, flat nose, the bluntest of blunt hollow points, does not matter.

I own six different automatics, and the only one that comes close to accuracy is a Turk made Beretta 92F in 9mm. (actually the Turk Beretta is a little more accurate, but it is 9mm)

For .40, from what I have shot...the SigArms 2340!!

Steyr M40 followed closely by the M&P40.

Nothing against the others, just find the above two fit me best.

It's a shame the Steyr isn't more popular (accessories aren't exactly plentiful).

I have many forties, but if I had to pick just one...

The CZ75 series in the .40S&W is the "easiest" shooting of all the .40S&Ws I've owned and shot. I also have the BHP in .40S&W and love it as well but the CZ handles the recoil better, to me. If you use the 180gr rounds it feels more like a .45ACP recoil than the .40S&W we think of. The combo of CZ and 180gr makes the 40S&W a joy to shoot.

I like the fact that you can shoot .357 Sig (40 S&W case necked down to a 9 mm bullet) with a simple barrel swap.

Sig 226. Very accurate well made gun da/sa. Not snappy at all. I shoot 155s and 180s at about 1200 fps. Beats the factory 10mm with lots of free brass.

FNX-40

I've only owned 3 40SW's. Out of the Cougar, G27, and FNX, the FNX-40 is my favorite shooter. Well, my G19 sees more action, because it's cheaper. But those two handguns are my primary means of turning cash into smoke. I love my 9mm and 45ACP Glocks, but I have almost no desire to add a G23 or a G22. The FNX works great for me as a service-sized 40. Of course, as always, my collection grows and changes according to the deals that present themselves.

For concealed carry nothing beat the HKP2000sk in .40. I personally don't find the recoil to be at all unmanigeable and less than most other guns of the same size and caliber. Recoil with the .357 sig barrel is a little heavier but also manageable. The full size shoots great too but in a gun of that size i expect capacity greater than 12. I also have a duty carry size MP in .40 which also has low recoil relative to other guns of the same caliber. I found Glock 22 recoil to be slightly heavier than the MP but neither are bad. My least favorite in polymer.40 was definitely the XD and found it to have the highest recoil. I've fired the HKP30 in 9mm and was impressed by the low recoil and would expect the same in .40 although obviously the .40 would have higher recoil than the 9.

I don't have a .40 and have trouble shooting the round but if I were to get one it would probably be a Glock 23 or M&P 40c

My only 40 is the G27 and I've peronally no desire to add another to the stable. If I could get a 45 the same size with the same capacity and weight
I would. It is my summer carry. It conceals well is light and accurate other than that its nothing special its a tool.

Xdm 40, the only one I got. :)
