What's your "never buy" gun?

Interesting thread. It seems that somebody is upset with every gun and/or manufacture out there. Conclusion? All put out some lemons and single examples of bad guns do not represent the entire line.

If someone accepted all that's written in this thread, nothing would be acceptable.

FWIW, over a dozen years ago, I bought a Browning High Power ("Tactical" model). Really bad. The trigger was so rough that sometimes I thought the safety was on! They must have done the trigger honing with 40 grit sandpaper. Traded it. A short while later I still had the itch. Bought another, even worse!!! I traded it when the front sight broke off! Never again! The only junk guns I've ever bought. I still like the design, I bought a FEG clone. Much better purchase, I still have that one.

Taurus? I often carry one. It's a good gun. HOWEVER, it took two factory replacements before I got a good one.

Kimber? I have a very early Kimber Compact. Good, reliable gun, it's on my hip as I type. Last year I bought a full sized Kimber 1911. I have not found it to be reliable and I don't trust it.

guys, I am new here and came for an education, but this thread has just been brutal. The only handgun I own is a taurus 24/7, and the only rifle I own is a savage 110 30-06 (yes with a WOOD stock). I love them both. i'm going to run into a corner and hide until the friendly fire stops lol

A .308 with a barrel less than 20" long

A shotgun in anything other than 12 gauge

A legally registered class III full auto

A Mini-14

A double action only handgun that is anything bigger than a Kel Tec P3AT

A gun with functional micro-stamping

A gun that is registered with any government

S&W semi-autos
1911s
Anything made by Taurus or Rossi
"Saturday Night Specials" (e.g. Ravens,Jennings, etc)
10 gauge shotguns (anything over 12 gauge to me is unpleasant to shoot)
.454 Casull or larger handguns (I have no use for anything more powerful than a .44 magnum)
Rifles more powerful than .308 (since I don't hunt, I can't justify the .30-06 or greater chamberings)
.17 caliber firearms - BB sized projectiles do not appeal to me

Just my opinion, YMMV

Any imitation M-1 Carbine built by Auto-Ordnance. In November '07, the bolt got jammed in my brand-new rifle (first gun purchase). The company repaired it for free, but when a $750 brand-new product is treated carefully, how can it jam?

If not very familiar with the previous owner and the gun's history, anything assembled by Century, such as an unknown CETME "G-3".
Probably anything that requires shipping. The ship & FFL costs are too high.

The dozens of major problems reported on various websites about CETMEs and many AK-74s assembled persuaded by Century persuaded me to instead get a Garand from the CMP.:)

And Century 'allegedly' starts the Warranty Period When the gun Arrives In The Store:scrutiny:, based on a report by an unhappy AK-74 owner, posted today.

Taurus Judge, or probably any Taurus. Anything by Raven Arms or Lorcin unless it's under $50. Any of those AK or AR pistols. Anything with a gold finish. This list is a lot shorter than the list of guns I would buy.

None

There is no gun on my never buy list. ANY and EVERY gun is fairgame. Some I might not shoot for safety or historic reasons, others would need to have a great price for me to consider it, but there is NO gun I would not at least consider buying.

If I had a few billion I would be to guns what Jay Leno is to cars- my collection would put the NRA musuem to shame. My gun safe would have an elevator to get me to the upper floors.

i agree glock s are butt ugly but they are reliable hi point is crap which some one told me glock makes them dont know if its true but as far as a smith revolver whats wrong with them i like the model 60 357 with three inch barrel oh H&K I agree there too

That triangular barreled remington, I can't stand it. It makes me angry for some reason. Also, any gun that is pink, I hope that goes without saying. Should be illegal. That gold desert eagle makes me want to smack someone as well, I hate it.

Anything by Hi-Point
S&W Semi-auto(except 10mm)
Springfield XD
Desert Eagle
Anything from Rossi
Anything from Stoeger

All this thread really tells me is that most negative rants about guns are baseless. I have owned too many guns of different brands to know that the only gun I won't buy is the one that costs too much.

A gun is worth something, and at the right price it doesn't matter much what you think about it... someone else likes it even if you don't.

Any semi auto pistol that is not a S&W .. I Love my S&W M&P 45 and M&P 9.. The best semi auto pistol I ever had the pleasure to shoot and it won't break your bank account.. All the S&W semi-auto haters here have obviously never owned one.

Glock Anything !!! My father always warned me to stay away from them, he's retired LA Sheriffs Dept and hated them when started bringing them on years ago !!! Always said they had problems jamming !! So I finally decide after reading all this good stuff about GLocks that my old man has to be off his rocker and I get a Glock 19 and decide to go shoot it with my dad. Literally with the first clip i put in the gun the first round jammed and 2 others in the first clip. Sold it with in a week !! I'll never own another !!! It was probably just a fluke but I'm not going back !!!

What, are you the official post critic??? Elephants have been taken with the .22 rimfire QUOTE]

I'd like to see the YouTube video of the guy who thought it would be a good idea to piss off an elephant by shooting at it with a .22

I prefer not to have any polymer handgun or knife. I like the feel of steel or alloy metals in my hands for shooting or cutting. If you were a carpenter, you would not buy a polymer hammer, a chef, a polymer knife in their hands etc..

I do not shoot, fly fish, tell time or buy with anything plastic/polymer when ever possible.

I will however, repair at my gun shop all guns and it is funny because the plastic/polymer guns provide me a steady source of income. I have had more Springfield's and Glocks in my shop for repair than I have had all steel guns combined. This is a weird event actually. I sell more steel/alloy guns out of my shop than I do polymer guns, but I get more polymer in for repairs. In the shop, when selling a gun, I do not talk down plastic/polymer guns. If I am asked a specifi question, I answer honestly with facts and what I see for both metal and polymer guns. I am starting to get a few more Rugers as well.

It seems that home gunsmiths (and even some pro gunsmiths) have not learned yet that some tools used on steel causes some negative effects on guns made of polymer/plastics. They ruin their warranty. They then need to find a gunsmith (at a lower cost than the mfg. house gunsmiths) to repair their well intended efforts. Most parts made of polymer, that fail, require replacement and not fixed. All of this is IMHO.
