When a gun is bought used, and might have been abused, are readers supposed to know that this was the situation, or should they assume that the gun was brand-new?
Also, problems with semi-autos is often because of the magazines (not just aftermarkets with Ruger Minis).
Without describing any of these factors, stating the word unreliable can be meaningless, and what do unfamiliar readers learn?

My Auto-Ordnance M-1 Carbine was brand-new in October '07. The mag came with the rifle.
