For the people that want it, why? $1800 for a 9mm auto pistol with a stock. Tacti-fad.

Finally an ultra-compact firearm that weighs as much as a S&W 460 XVR and is about the same length. Is it April first?

Who are they selling this to?

If I ever want to do a Buck Rogers reboot movie/tv show it might be a interesting prop.
It isn't anything I want in my house though ..... I mean, it would clash with color themes ....

Seriously it is what I call a "stupid" gun. Looks cute but no real practical purpose.

I can't get over the "integral muzzle brake"...

Why not just a three lug and call it a day? Instead it looks like a hockey goalie's smile. Then you can't even change it out?

Hard pass just on that.

Have you guys seen the new mpx copperhead that was released today? I agree with the color statements but hmmm... could this be a good purchase if comes in different colors?

No. Useless like every other large "handgun" with a forarm brace.

My LGS actually had one come in yesterday. I was there when they unpacked it and they let me give it the once over. It was already spoken for, not that I would have bought it, but was told the out the door price was $1400. I have a CZ Scorpion EVO 1 and a Freedom Ordnance AR 15 pistol carbine in 9mm so I'm really not in the market for another but I do find it a interesting firearm but not interesting enough at $1400.

I think they will sell some but the production number will be below the Marlin model 60 (and 100’s of other firearms), that’s why they are going to cost more.

Not unlike at AR, the used to cost more than they do today than they used to, despite a dollar not buying as much today as it used to, they are just making and selling a lot more of them.

I SBR'd my gen 2 MPX, I still don't have $1.8k into it even with the stamp, and the Timney trigger. I'll pass on ole' copperhead.

I'll give Sig credit for really pushing the envelop, but even after picking up a 4.5" MPX, this just doesn't appeal to me enough to lay out the extra few hundred$$$. As to the 4.5" Sig? Compared to my GHM9 and CZ, it's the best handling "pistol" of the three with excellent features. If anything, Sig really hit it out of the park with the MPX line and associated features (other than the price and mag prices!).

ROCK6

It's cool, reminiscent of the original Scorpion and would be a great toy but I ain't actually buyin' one.

Welcome to THR, outdoordad! :)

Whats your thoughts on Sigs New MPX Copperhead?
Since you asked ...

To me, it looks like something cute/silly out of a movie or video/online game.

I have zero interest in either buying or owning one, though. If someone gifted me with one, I would probably take it out shooting a couple of times and then sell it. ;)
