Where to Hide Guns?

What's the old one about "if it's time to bury them it's time to dig them up"? :)

That said, I like the PVC pipe method myself, not that I'd ever do that, or even own one of those filthy gun things.

Have you noticed the news stories where they keep finding money in walls?

I think they have the wall searching thing down pat.

I agree it is time to use them when your start thinking of burying them.

It's one thing to say "if it's time to bury them, it's time to dig them back up" if one lives say, for example, totally random off top of my head, in Texas. However, plenty of THR members and readers are trapped behind enemy lines, such as I was in Chicago.

Nothing wrong with learning to deal with higher burdens of gun ownership.

I think there's a couple of things to think about here.

When the cops confiscated guns in New Orleans, how did they know who had guns? How did they know how to find them? Was there anyone who was able to hide guns from the cops? How?

If things were bad enough to hide guns I would think the cops would show up W/ dogs so I wouldn't hide the guns in my house. I'd try to bury them off sight. If I was lucky enough to live in an old house W/ a Bomb shelter I'd hide them there.
But it occurs to me that IF the cops brought dogs they'd know there'd been guns in the house, so probably I'd keep the wifes POS Llamma for the dogs to find and turn in , I might even hide it so they'd feel like they "found" something

Um.... let's hope no one says where they would on THE INTERNET... where GOVERNMENT can see what you're saying! Don't give 'em ideas!

When I did that, I'd be in Washington DC protesting night and day, because that would literally be a criminal government that bans guns from our hands. Tell them to read the 2nd Amendment, which is a law THEY must obey, or else THEY will be punished.

I hope millions upon millions of gun owners would be with me in DC, and all over the country, protesting. Or else tyranny shall reign, if the people remain complacent in the face of governmental criminality.

Time to wake the sheep up, they've been sleeping too long.

Either they'd be hidden, or they'd be in my hands fighting off the government criminals attempting to steal our RIGHTS from us. As long as I'm not alone, that is... there's power in numbers! And 80,000,000 gun owners working together, a criminal government has no chance, imo.

I read a while back that one of the Army units found a cache of weapons in Iraq that dated to WW2. There were Thompsons, Grease Guns, and BAR's that were put in a barrel, and the barrel filled with oil.
60 years later they were still good to go.

Notice I said if we work together?

When you read the 2nd Amendment again, you notice: "A WELL-REGULATED MILITIA, being necessary to the security of a FREE state..."

See, the well-regulated militia (you and I, if we're working together in unison) is what is most effective against a criminal government who also has a regulated military to fight for them.

This is why we need to start training together, make a national and state club for private militias to get together and train in unconventional warfare tactics on how to take down a criminal government, if there ever is one.

This is exactly what the founding fathers meant when writing the 2nd Amendment!

We need to train, and train with pistols AND machine rifles together.

Hey I never said I didn't follow the Spring Planting thread with great interest :)

Well there was Geocaching then there was Letter boxing not the new family fun sport of Weapons Caching, Find guns all over the United States with your GPS and a cleverly written treasure map of clues. They could be any where in a hollowed out log, under the railroad ties or hidden in the Statue of General Lee in Richmond VA. Endless fun for All!

I got 10 acres of land to hide them. Not to mention around my house there are fields and fields of crops and stuff. I really dont think that the feds would come and search every house but you never know.

This "hypothetical" scenario is why we are allowed to and should form militias.

I used to know a guy, Viet Nam era Marine, who said he had more crap buried in his yard than we had in our gun vault at my unit. Said it was in cosmoline wrapped in grease coated cheese cloth. Makes me wonder if he ever dug it up and what he found.

Fascinating, I don't own any guns, haven't for years, ever since that Clinton guy was president and he convinced me guns was bad. Now cigars, I got a bunch of them.

My concept was to bury my safe in my back yard, or something crazy like that.

Forget about the back yard. It will be one of the first places the JBTs will look. That's why they'll have metal detectors. Also, forget the safe, it'll rust and be too heavy to carry. Best bet is a National Forest or Park or something that won't be developed. Use something like a Pelican case and wrap it in shrink wrap.

in the walls. think about it, its so easy to take off a panel of dry wall, remove a little insulation, and then put it all back, also there is so many nails, wiring and metal connections in your walls.

it would be really labor intensive to search the walls with metal detectors.

also buring them would be a reasonable alternative, ever try to find something on 60 acres of hills and woods? also just think how many thousands of 1'' ball bearings i just happended to "loose" on said 60 acres

and buring them under something that has been there a long time, like an old rusted out car, or a really big rock.

this ones a little drastic, take the largest spade drill you can get, and hollow out the top of a telephone pole, hide your stuff, and plug it up with a wood plug and calk,

an average telephone pole is about 5-6'' in diameter, and you need a 30 foot ladder to reach it. although getting that close to 1000000 volts of power lines is a bit drastic.

heck, pack em in grease and plastic bags, and put em in one of those pelecan cases and sink it into your pond.

i dont think the feds are smart enough to look under rocks for guns:rolleyes:

I agree with the sealed pvc, but painted brown and attached to the top of a very tall tree. No one ever looks up!;)

Be creative--enjoy the fantasy!

It's nice to say don't do so--but I would say if you feel the need to cache a few--why not? Just be sure to cache ammo, tools, and parts with each.

The only advice I'd give about location is (1)diversify (2)don't forget but don't write down (3) tell someone you trust well before you die

And keep most above ground and easy to grab; stand your ground when needed and water the tree if the time comes and you can. Easier said than done, but Gestapos get fewer fresh recruits when casualty counts keep rising. Peace.
