Deer...hogs...sized game.
It will be scoped.
Is there much loss between a 20 inch barrel and a 16.5 barrel?
Mine's a freakin' laser. That FN-AR looks good. What kind of accuracy and reliability have y'all experienced?
How expensive and are they readily available? I'd probably need three max. I assume 20 rounds. I'd like an extra mag for hogs as it can become an East Texas OK Corral if a group is run into along a river bottom.Mine's a freakin' laser.
If you are looking at one seriously I should mention a couple of the drawbacks so that you are fully informed.
The mags are expensive
It is a PITA to disassemble
She has an M&P15 she got for her 18th birthday and the M&P 10 has an 18" barrel which I would consider the minimum length. That's another model consideration; however, that FNAR does sound good.I'd go with a mp10.
Yes...more than once; especially, since she's an M-1 Garand nut almost as bad as I am.Bexar,
Have you thought of an m1a? I took a deer with my M1a a few years ago... 10 and 20 rd mags can be had. Sadlak scope mounts are the way to go with them.
I have a standard model... not match or anything and I can get 1.5" groups at 100 yards. It's the ultimate .308 Battle a rifle IMHO
Could you define accurate please. My M&P 10 is nice and light for the field. Lightweight contour barrel is accurate when cool.

Also known as an FNAR with flush mags and a straight stock . Both are excellent, with an edge for the FNAR for hogs simply due to its 20rnd box mags.Browning BAR short trac in .308. Light and great for hunting.
PTR -91, cheap mags but tough to scope
