We all have our favorite auto. The company, brand, or model we feel loyalty to.

But out of all of them which do you think has the broadest appeal and grudging respect among the members of TFL?

Pick one. You're thinking not of yourself but the candidate you think could generate the best consensus among TFLer's.

Sig would not be my first pick, but it'd definetely be up towards the top. I chose Sig because, while many folks expound the virtues of their favorite Glocks or 1911's, it is my observation that Sig seems to be well respected by most of the posters I see here at TFL.

I bought my 220 based on reputation alone. I voted HK because of my experience both w/ my SIG & my HK's.

I like Colts best, but I think SigSauer has the all-around best reputation, followed by HK.

Hey Ala Dan...I guessed correctly :D

Me, voted other. Mostly mess with 1911 style, not brand loyal per se'.
Like most things I guess, have my druthers...but when a deal hits with cash, well, you do what you gotta do.

I know I'm not prejudiced just because I bought a Sig for my first handgun:D :D Really, I'm not. I based my answer on what I have read on this forum, that most everyone agrees Sig makes a great handgun. Since I do not belong to other forums (ok I did join the Sig forum, but I rarely go there for lack of time)

Greeting's there Safety First-

You know my friend and fellow DixieLand'er Big G
and myself are smiling; knowing that your first handgun
was a \\\\SIG////. Excellent choice there partner! And
many thanks for buying a SIG.

Att: re 1973

You win the prize, my friend! :uhoh: A free, lifetime
membership in the SIG-A-HOLIC'S fan club! :D

Best Wishes,

You're a Highroader now, remember? ;)

HK gets my vote. (what else is new? :) ) Not necessarily as to broadest appeal, as the brand is trapped with the reputation of being priced on the high end of the market, but rather on the numerous variants founded on a solidly engineered design. From the puny P2000 sub-compact to the humongous Mark23. no other gun maker in the market now can even compare.

Not SIG, not Glock, not Walther. ;)

I think that across the ENTIRE line of products offer Sig has the highest ratio of solid working guns to useless crap. Seems like most other companies have marketing departments designing guns these days. Don't own a Sig, don't really want one either, but you can't knock the quality of the line.

New_Comer,

That's funny. Notice how many people didn't bat an eye until you mentioned it?;) But let me reiterate, this poll isn't about what you think is necessarily the "best" or your favorite.

Sig gets the "Props" to be sure. I've never heard anyone seriously bad mouth a Sig. Some people bring up valid short-comings of certain models and of life expectancy in rounds but I never see the kind of flame wars that 1911s and Glocks tend to generate ;)

Ala Dan-Gee thanks, hadn't won anything in a long while.:D

"Which brand seems to enjoy the broadest respect?"

Well I respect them all. Have my druthers, but another deal is the platform, and what fits shooter. My thinking is "WE" are all in this together [responsible firearms ownership, preservations of 2A, and freedoms...etc.] So not gonna bash...lived long enough to have already had my foot in my mouth already.;) Hey even had my "six" covered by a non-druther...may happen again, as I covered others.

Regardless of mfg. wish all would do more on quality control...then "IF" a service needed, have improved customer service. The consumer should not do the beta testing, nor should the bean counters and Wall Street dictate what is "best".

I voted Sig based on their reputation here and among my peers.

IME great pistols but they just don't do it for me.
