Which eastern NY counties issue carry conceal permits?

NY is county by county, some judges will put 'hunting/target shooting' restrictions on permits. My brother in law might be moving to the Poughkeepsie area and wondering which counties around there issue unrestricted permits? Thanks in advance!

i'm not optimistic, though ... given that town's (relative) proximity to NYC.

Yeah, it's still hit or miss unless you're right by the city. It's all a joke though and the state should really do something to revoke the right of county judges to put restrictions on the permits.

There used to be a map on packing.org but it's gone now. And since there was that stupid "I agree to your disclaimer" button on PDO, none of the internal pages were ever archived on the wayback machine.

I seem to remember that as far as eastern NY went, if you aren't too far downstate, and not basically in Albany, you were good. Saratoga is restricted.

I made a map a couple years ago as an upgrade to the one on PDO, more readable, etc. Not sure where that is, but if I dig it up, I'll post it here.

I think I recall that Orange County was CCW friendly. I was in Gander Mountain in Middletown and saw a flyer for a pistol class, and it was mentioned that the course was "required" or would satisfy the requirements for a CCW.
