I went with the 92fs. I'm already covered on 1911s (although if anyone has TOO MANY, I will take in strays!).
Now, I just need to find such a great deal deal on the 92fs that I can look at my husband with BIG, INNOCENT eyes and say, "Honey, if I didn't get it, it would have been like throwing money away."
The USP, 'cause I already got a mil-spec 1911, don't care for the Beretta, and the M&P looks funny to me (yeah I know there are more important things than looks, but their are plenty of good looking handguns that work perfectly, so why get something I don't want to look at).
I chose the Springfield Armory Mil-Spec. There's not another design that can compare to it. There's no other handgun that comes close to it's service record either
I chose the Beretta. I haven't fire one since the USAF, but I firmly believe it is a good gun. I have owned and sold two USPs, and I think I will buy another well before christmas. Wouldn't consider the S&W. And as my dad has a great collection of 1911s, I don't feel the need there.
1911A1. The Springfield is a good gun. Don't care for Baretta or S&W's semi-autos. Don't know much about H&K's, but haven't cared for what I have seen of them.
Mil-Spec 1911, because I hate the Beretta, the M&P is just plain ugly, and I don't like the USP as much as a love the 1911. Now, if there was the option for an XD45, I'd have probably chosen that.
I voted the M&P. I'd prefer to get it in 9mm for range use, but .40 would be okay. It's one of those guns I think would be awesome, but it's so far down my list that it would be a while before my money got spent on it--so, have someone else spend their money on it . And, there's not "Version A" or "Version B" for them to mess up on--with the 1911, parkerized or stainless? Same with 92. USP Compact, fullsize, tactical, elite, with what finish?
M&P=1 size fits all.
Besides, for all the others, I would like to "work up" to them on my own money. With the 1911, I'd slowly customize it out the wazoo; 92=good range gun, USP=mother of all ______ {fill in blank with anything fitting}.
Besides, a polymer framed gun should be on my list, but no glocks for me .
beretta 92fs is a good gun, i ve had over 200 rounds not a problem.
i had a 1911 also, need to get a 5" two tone from either springfield, kimber, sig or sw.
