i am in the market for an mp5 clone and i have read some negative things about Bobcat arms, and was wondering what you guys suggest. my buddy at work has a bobcat sbr, and it has done great for him, so should i go verctorarms, vulcan, or the bobcat? or any other brands out there that I don't know about? what do you guys have and how have they performed for you? thanks!

I had no experience with MP5 clones until last weekend. Got to shoot two Bobcat MP5 clones both with suppressors in pistol configuration. I don't know about the other brands mentioned but I can tell you that we gave those Bobcats a workout this weekend and didn't have any issues. They were a lot of fun! Keep in mind that my experience with them is very limited but we probably put 1k rounds through each. NOW I WANT ONE:D

shawn 357,
thanks that is exactly what i want to hear, some good first hand accounts, and people with actual experience, no matter how limited that you think your experience is, it has been a great help and i appreciate it!

700 rounds through my Vector, without cleaning, and only 2 FTFs, from the magazine lips being bent.

If you roll the dice on a Bobcat or any of Toad Bailey's creations - it's your wallet that will pay for a bad gun. You will not get help or support from him after the sale, that is the entire problem with Bobcat and the rest of Toad's junk.

Your gun might be great, but you're still supporting a horrible business that has tainted his market with bad guns and worse customer service.

That's my .02 about companies like Hesse and Bobcat.

swingset,
thank you, and i will not be buying from bobcat, i will not support such a company. thanks for the heads up!

cannonninja,
sweet looking weapon i like it, thanks for the info.

run very very fast from a vulcan/hesse (same company same garbage) their mp5 "clone" and i actually would not even consider it a clone, as it only shares some outward similarities to a real mp5, is it in simple terms... garbage... it's actually not even a roller locked gun it's a straight blowback action. Ask anyone about a hesse gun and you'll get a similar response

as far as lumping hesse w/ SW thats a bit of a stretch as there are people that like SW guns or at least guns built from SW parts

as i posted in the last mp5 topic

Also in case anyone didnt know all mp5 clone parts are made by Special Weapons (vector, bobcat, SW) they are however assembeled by the respective companies, so there can be differences in fit and finish. you may also want to call and check w/ vector and bobcat to see if they currently have any clones in stock as they both seem to have had a falling out w/ the owner of SW

I got a Brugger & Thomet BT-96, and the finishing is better than real HK mp5 (BT buy HK MP5 and refinish them, plus some other modifications)
