Who makes the best junk gun?

Well, I personally don't believe that the hi-point should be listed here, because it's not a Junk gun. And the thread did ask for the best junk gun. And the best-nines: http://www.best9mm.com/ lists the hi-point in the top-25 of 9mm pistols. And the rater was quite impressed with it. Also, there are many other reviews such as shooting-times and others that all say how "Shocked and Surprised" they were with the hi-point. They expected it to be junk. But it wasn't.

omg thk you sigmas are junk i've had two break showing them to customers the plastic guide rail snapped off inside frm whn i showed tht it was unloaded the released it and bam like tht crap. sad thg is tht people thk i say ths to thm to make thm buy another weapon and most are more expensive but thn thy buy one and 2-3 weeks later thy tell me i sold thm a crap gun lol

Not getting into any of the arguments...just my opinions here.

I consider junk guns the ones I would use for certain rough tasks. For example, a gun that I know will be left in the boat, left at the cabin, left in the trunk or stashed in the truck. For these cases...Hi Point gets the nod. No big loss if it gets a bit of rust (easily remedied with a scrub and oil) or scuffed up (this may be a benefit with a Hi Point!). A junk gun could also be one used as a loaner.

My good firearms are carried, in use or locked in a safe.

Anything I consider less than a Hi Point I wouldn't even have in any case.

This all said, I don't own a boat, don't have a cabin and never leave firearms unsecured in a vehicle...thus, I don't own a Hi Point.

Sorry,,,I don't have any firearms you could borrow either.

I just looked at the "Best Nines" web site. I've owned most every pistol on that list. Whomever wrote those rankings is quite wrong. Pretty unbelievable really.

Maybe the thread should have be titled; "Best inexpensive gun". As many have cited, the CZ-82 is probably the BEST of the BEST when it comes to bang for your buck. The PA-63, P64, AP-MBP, and some other military surplus guns are also guns that obviously have some of the best quality, and can be bought for a very low price. The Hi-Point falls into the inexpensive quality gun category also. There are definitely a lot of Junk guns out there that are "CHEAP". Cheap is different than inexpensive. Some of those guns are down right dangerous. And you can tell simply by reading forums. Forums are made up of usually 3 types of posters. 1)Hobbyists who really like guns. They are actually not the majority of posters. 2)Those researching and looking for their next gun purchase. and 3)Those with issues or problems and are looking for answers. And it's the 3rd group that I concentrate on when looking at a particular gun that I might purchase. How many posts do you see with people having problems? How many posts show the same problems. Isolated posts with a problem don't really count, because all guns: from glock, to sig, to S&W, to HK, to anything has their lemons. But if you actually looked for the "Problem Posts", I think some would be surprised at what guns aren't on the list.

Another Sig vs Kimber thread! :neener:

My Keltec p32 is my best junk gun. Darn near impossible to aim. I just ground the sights off and dehorned the slide. No sights at all seem to be more acurrate then the sights it had! :uhoh: My paint job needs a little work. Oh well I'll send the slide off for a refinish when one of my other guns needs work.
