Took my USP .45 out today and put 100 rounds through it. Good, cheap CCI Blazer 230 balls.

They did a good job of sighting the gun at the factory. The first time I shot it, about three weeks ago, it seemed to be a tad to the right. I think I just wasn't used to the gun.

Today at approximately 60 ft (I had my tape measure), I knocked the center out of an old dart board with my first two shots. It was shooting exactly where the sights were lining. At the same distance, I knocked off two 10 1/2 oz cans of soup with the second shot each time.

This piece is also amazingly easy to control rapid fire with my new twelve round pre-bans. Love em. It's amazing how something as simple as scoring the front of the trigger guard for the left index finger helps in keeping the gun on target during rapid fire.

The USPf .45 is a superb piece!

USP Accuracy.....

My son-in-law has a Sig 226 that he was lousy with. I could pick up the same gun and do quite well. Recently he purchased the USP and he's now a tack driver. I put several round thru it was really impressed. It's a natural.

Fella's;

I'm a happy camper with my H&K also. Beware though that there are individuals who make it a point to come in & rain on the H&K fans. I can't remember the exact handle, something to do with the Spanish Navy, Swiss Navy, somebody's navy I think.

In any case go to: www.hkpro.com
It's all friendly there.

I've been collecting USP's since AA (date code thing ;) ). Really nice to hear about another one finding a happy home!

My 45C was hard for me to shoot well. I shoulda gotten the 9's.

I think 10-ring's Expert likes me though.

My .45 USP compact is good at homing in on the orange and black centers of things as well.
Also, the grip is thinner because it uses steel mags.
I'm happy with mine.

I thought the official word from HK was that there are no pre ban 12 rounders. Am I confusing that with the 9mm version?

There would have to be. The gun was designed to hold and cycle 12 rounds.

How could there not be pre-bans?

I shot a USP .45 at a rental range about 2 years ago. This thing was DIRTY. Probably not been seriously cleaned in a year. I took the slide off to make sure nothing was missing, wiped out the barrel a bit and reassembled it. At 20 feet I put 30 rounds of 230gr. into a rough 2" group.
I can only imagine what a clean, well-maintained USP can do.

USP45F debuted in 1995, and the Crime Bill, banning the 12 round mags and require magazines over 10 rounds be marked, signed in late 1994. Position of HK is that they didn't produce any full size .45 magazines prior to that date. Some how unmarked 12 rounders made it into the states...where from...I duno...thin air perhapes?

So why is it expressly stated that the USP line of firearms was produced for the American market? If the American market prohibits operating capacities greater than 10 rounds, and the USPf .45 was obviously designed for twelve rounds, then where is the disconnect?

If the full-sized .45 USP was designed to handle 12 rounds and was designed for the civilian American market ("American shooters"), then something just ain't right, is it?

That is, unless the firearms were manufactured just prior to the ban, and no magazines were actually manufactured-- very unlikely I would say.

From HKpro:

The USP45 has a magazine capacity of 12 rounds for law enforcement and 10 rounds for civilian purchase. The existence of so called "pre-ban" 12 round magazines for the USP45 has been hotly debated on the Internet. Though never definitively answered by either side, it is the position of HK that no civilian legal 12 round USP45 mags ever existed. (Gun debuted in 1995, Crime Bill signed in late 1994) HKPRO is in agreement with this determination, and does not allow ads for these mags on the HKPRO boards.

As usual, Tamara is da' man... er... well you know what I mean. Good research! :D

Well i posted hkpro link in a thread selling hi cap .45 mags in the accessories section. anyways, i got a PM from someone else about them, name left out.

Regaurding your post "HK's position on "Preban" USP45 mags"
That is not HK's position, that is the position of HK USA...which is just an importer and has nothing to do with production of any HK Parts.

i'm not a really big gun person, anyone who knows more about em know if this holds any weight?
