We keep talking about if someone was elected into office, and they passed laws restricting guns. IF SOMETHING OF A GUN TAKE-UP WERE TO HAPPEN...

-My question is who is going to enforce the " gun ban"/"snatch up". I mean the liberals don't have guns (nor want them) so they can't enforce their OWN laws themselves, for the people have the guns ,they don't. The police? Well they're people too. They can think for themselves. Would they do the honors? I mean most of them support the 2nd A. The Military? Can't use them in civil situations. One thought of mine is private contractors?

What do you think?

* lets keep this THR safe, no politics, no nonsense, serious

Honk if my spelling sucks!

The police had no problem taking guns in Katrina, what make you think that there are not cops out there that would do it if ordered? (not all, but some police)

I don't want to start a flame war and will not respond back to this topic after i post this. I'm just going to say that whoever is elected president will most likely get pressed to do something about "the gun problem". If Obama gets elected we can count on something happening. I will also say their has been a lot of "police action" happening over the past few years. If he gets elected we can expect a helluva lot more than we've had in the past 20 years all together. so i believe that if something like that happens, our boys [and girls] of the armed forces will most likely be knocking on our door.

They did in New Orleans...

The Military? Can't use them in civil situations.

Wanna bet? If an administration is serious about enforcing confiscations I'd bet there'd be a real quick change in the law allowing such activity.

Also, if the military can't be used in "civil situations" why is it that there were so many soldiers guarding civilian airports following 9-11-2001?

I'm glad I started this thread. Do you think that our people of the armed forces will follow the orders of "take the guns away from your neighbors with force"?

This is all the farther I can get on this topic. What makes you think liberals don't have guns or don't want them? Remember Feinstein? (sp?)

Got nothing else to add because the discussion is based on a false presumption.

(Haven't been on the site in weeks and this is the first thing I come to, just great. Oh well, g'night.)

I've said it before...I fully expect another AWB, this time with confiscation of all or most semi-auto rifles and shotguns. As to who will do it...yes, the police and the military will dutifully follow orders and come knocking on your door. And we will let them do it. When a half dozen SWAT cops with M-16s are kicking in your front door, you'll give them whatever they want.

And I don't kid myself. Big Brother knows about every gun I own and won't buy any sob story about that tragic boating accident where most of my guns fell overboard.:scrutiny:

Cynical? Maybe. Realistic? Well, let's hope not.

Some of you should just go vote for Obama. you seem to already think the worst of this country. Do yourself a favor and ease into the transition by supporting the liberal agenda.

I'm so sick of all the sky-falling crap. Nobody here has seen any evidence that they'll kick your door in and put a tracking beacon up your ass. All of the bills introduced thus far that would mostly carry over to next term (since the same people make these, ya know) will call for the same Clinton-esque definitions and provisions. About the only thing I would expect in the worst case would be something like barring private transfers (or transfers in general) of banned weapons, as well as the ban-by-name feature to rid itself of those 'loopholes'.

So don't worry. At worst, your weapons won't be taken away, at least not for some long time, but only made worthless to anyone but you the owner. They don't have to kick your door in to kill the second amendment - they've figured that out ten years ago. Do yourself a favor and take off the tin foil.

It doesn't matter who's gonna do it, it's not going to happen. This isn't a legal topic, it's a political SHTF topic and we all know those aren't allowed here.
