Why do so many people complain about magazine disconnects?

What part do you think is dubious? That officers often find themselves in life and death struggles for their sidearm or that departments that issue sidearms with magazine disconnects have had several officers whose lives were saved by properly employing those devices?

Click just touched on an important point. It's not about guarantees. It's about using anything at your disposal to increase or decrease the odds in your favor. A magazine disconnect that saves one cop's life out of a hundred attempts has fulfilled its purpose for one cop. That if failed in the other 99 has nothing to do with whether or not its a viable function...at least not to the cop that it saved...and a one per cent chance of success still beats zero per cent.
