I am required to have a permit in order to lawfully own my handguns in this state. I could carry them on my badge, but if I get terminated or retire, I would have to turn them in. Even though I am an LEO, I could not get my permit issued to me unrestricted..even though its technically a concealed permit, the local judges issue them overstruck with a limitation for "hunting and target practice only" because a local guy successfully used his legally possessed handgun to defend himself against a mugging about 15 years ago.

The lives of my loved ones matter, as does my life. As for my property, it is really of little value compared to my life. Risking my life for my TV, hubcaps, or whatever, just really seems silly. Like guns, insurance has some very real necessary aspects to life. Insurance will get me new items, but not a new child or new self. Those can't be replaced. I would have included "spouse" in that category, but many of us are already accomplished at getting new spouses, some more than once!

Because many people in this country, some on this board, politicians, and do-gooder idiots in general have gotten away with forcing me to! Mailed off my certified birth certificate to obtain mine this morning. Now that I've proved I'm a citizen, the process for me to legally defend myself and family can start. In my state I would not have to provide I.D. to vote! We have lost and many of you don't even realize it!
