Ok guys I have an older savage model 10 fcp -sr 6.5 Creedmoor with savages 10 round proprietary mag :barf: it is getting worse and worse so I am looking into getting the accurate mag dbm with a 5 round mag while I did order it can someone please explain to me how that wee bit of metal and 1 mag is worth $175 bucks:what::what::what: I am all for buy once cry once but I am just trying to find some value here you know!

Also shipping was $21:cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss:

So back to the original question/point why is aftermarket DBM so expensive I am guessing because you have to fit it?

Special interest, machining, and materials......I assume anyway.
Factory hinged bottom metal runs 100-125 so it's not way out of line

. . . can someone please explain to me how that wee bit of metal and 1 mag is worth $175 bucks
Pricing is not, and has never been, based solely on cost. It's supply and demand, and you're shopping for a part with very low demand. Most rifles in the world wear their factory bottom metal forever.

Replacement triggers cost much more (guess 5x?) as much to make as a DBM, but the market is large and competitive, so the price is about the same.

Actually the bottom metal is only $130 you paid $45 for the magazine.

Did you see the price for the Remington version? :D

That bottom metal uses standard AICS pattern magazines so you can go else where for additional magazines. Magpul even makes magazines that should work with that bottom metal. Less than $40 you can get a 10rd magazine.

Component, operation (tools, machinery, electricity, water, rent, payroll, etc), and other cost are added into the price. Supply and demand may also play a small role as well as manufacturing time. Even though two parts might be somewhat the same, if part A takes 30 minutes to manufacture, and higher quality part B takes 45 minutes, that cost will be passed on to you as well.
