Wolf ammo in 223

Hornady TAP Training steel case is my ammo of choice for 3 gunning. Not uncommon on a stage to spank a couple of mags through very rapidly. No problems at all. And its MOA accurate too.

My 14.5 Bushmaster shoots everything I have loaded into it also. So does my Del-Ton and two CMMGs. They are all chromed lined. The only ARs I have and will not shoot steel case in are my Predator and Varminter 20 and 24" Bushmasters. They won't shoot it anyway with out problems. FTF

If this entire thread is read there are comments quoted from manufactures with regards to Do's and don'ts. I can't remember anyone trashing the ammo other than a few saying it is dirtier. So you clean a little more, so what. Some think it is commie under powered smelly POS but hey it's a free world use what ever hahahheheh. It works for some and some it does not.

Some manufactures say do not use it and others say only in chrome lined. One of the guys looked at his warranty from CMMG and it said if Wolf is used it can void his warranty. I doubt he made that up?

Sounds pretty serious to me!

Again people are going to use what they want.

I like to know why some have problems with polymer or lacquer coated steel case ammo and what happens long term if you do. There are always opposing views on pretty much everything.

Again I tend to respect the manufactures and listen to their directives about the do's and don'ts. I have maybe 800 rounds ( out of 2000 ) of Silverbear and it will all be used by me in the next few months. It just does not work in two of my ARs. All other ammo in brass I have tried works fine so for me personally I believe Mr. Roberts made one of the better points about the ammo cases.

My weapons will out live me by a long way/term and probably anyone else who gets them for I try not to abuse my property or start fires with a cherry red barrel but if that makes one happy go for it.

OMG, people think that ARs are the only rifles that shoot .223 ammo.

I own a Mini-14 that chews up Wolf, Bear, Tula, Ulyvonsk(sp?), etc. and it all shoots fine.

I have been only shooting brass and planning to reload it all... however you can buy steel for cheaper than reloading it seems. Reciently I ran 200 rounds of wolf through my LWRC and it chewed it up. It dawned on me that if my AR won't eat steel ammo it's not a very good defensive rifle. I am planning on giving it all the steel ammo I can now... if it needs a rebarrel in a couple years, then screw it. At least I got in a lot of cheap practice.

i've seen squib loads cause the bullet to lodge inside the barrel from this exact load you mention. One in thousands, but I've seen it more than once, so be careful.
