They work in a stock G21 gen 4 as well.45 Supers, come to think of it, they will work in a (slightly modified) 1911 too.
No doubt yours would work well, cousin Engineer!"...and a good knife." [Deaf Smith]
That knife is about the size that Gene Moe used (a Buck 110 folding hunter) to kill an 800 lb grizzly. Mr. Moe, now in his 80s, was 69 when he killed the bear.
Why cousin Smith, (with your considerable experience, skills, and, good looks) you could, without a doubt, grin a bear into compliance...
As for me, I'll defer to a S&W 22-4, loaded with 45 Supers, come to think of it, they will work in a (slightly modified) 1911 too.
The much awaited G40 long slide with cut for optic. Magazine holds 15 cartridges. Nothing else comes close. Federal cartridge makes fearsome hunting load in 10x25. The 10mm is back after long dormant period.I really like a Glock 20 or 40 (10mm) as a woods gun, and I'm not a Glock fan.
That said, 15rds of hot 10mm will do a lot for one in the woods.
After that, I would likely go with a .357 on the east coast.
Apparently you didn't search very hard, and your approach is no different than most of the other useless threads on the same topic.I've searched through the existing threads, but I thought I'd take a different approach and make a poll.

Why on Gods green earth did you leave out the Ruger GP100 .
I didn't see it listed, but a 1911 is a goody.
