I have an XD-40 and my buddy has a Glock 22 so we decided to switch guns for a day at the range. My initial impression of the Glock was that it looked alot like my XS on the outside. When I held it I could feel the difference in grip angle and I like the 1911 style of the XD. Then it came time to shoot it. The Glock trigger felt a little spongy and was definitly heavier than I am used to. I have to say there was nothing wrong with the Glock, it fired over 400 rounds perfectly. But at the end of the day I was glad to ge my XD back. My buddy liked the grip safety and the steel sights on the XD more than the plastic ones that came on his Glock. I have to say that the grip safety makes no real difference to me one way or another but the sights are nice. When I was deciding to get the XD I was also considering a Glock. The price was the main difference that sold me as I had heard great things about reliability in the XD's and Glocks. Now that I have had the chance to do a comparison shoot I think I made the right decision.

I have really been impressed w/ the XD's I've shot. I'd consider buying one if they were available in 45 acp :D

Someone with an XD .40 that hasn't had ejector problem's. I feel better. Have you noticed if your magazines hit the ejector or is this just limited to some XD .40's?

emann...must be special to your XD-40, I have almost a millimeter of clearance between my magazine and my ejector. The top round of a loaded mag just barely touches it
