xd 9mm v10 + slide cracks?

Just wanted to know if anyone here had a v10 model xd, and a 9mm version to be particular. i have read and heard else where that there is a few problems where the slide cracks right near the front sight on the pistols in question. do you guys have this problem, or had this problem? i know there are several members with the v10's but i have never read about this issue on THR. thanks in advance!

ya i have had my XD V-10 slide break i havnt sent it in yetm but i know they replace it for free.

Good to know VegasEgo. I have a 9mm V10 which doesn't have any cracks so far after about 1500 rounds through it but I'll keep an eye out.

Mine's not a 9mm, but the 40 V-10. I'll probably never buy another ported handgun again, but that is for another thread...

I have also heard of the frame cracking and have kept an eye on mine. No problems yet. Round count is probably around 1200-1500 or so.

Happened to me too

My first XD9 was a V10. Strap between the ports cracked after about 500 rounds . Springfield replaced it with a tactical in about a week . This pistol has been flawless through more than 3000 rounds.

Hasn't happened to mine yet, but I haven't had the time to put much through it.

I have a V-10 XD in .40 and have had no problems out of it. From what I hear, it's the 9mm V-10 that has the cracking problems. I do keep an eye out when cleaning mine for any crack formation though.

Yep, this is a common problem on the ported XDs.

Thanks guys, i appreciate the replies, yeah it seems to be a problem in the 9mm models, which is kinda stragne to me, but even if something does go wrong it is great to know that sa will replace the gun. thanks agian for all the replies and the actual experience i appreciate it!
