When we finally bought a newly constructed home 2 years ago I could finally claim an area as my own. I spend many a afternoon/late night tinkering around in here.

My closet has been converted into an armory (safe inside for now) I hope to swap in a finger scanning metal door (inside hinges) sometime this year.
 
If/when you swap the standard door for the steel door, make sure there's a backup manual key access - those biometrics tend to be finicky (I have extensive experience with them through my PC/laptop repair business)
 
I like the battleship grey. It gives the man cave a nautical feeling.

Get shattergard for your window.
 
My man cave is temporary. It is there that I convene with nature. I read all the most recent gun magazines fresh from the mailbox. I sometimes clean a gun or parts there. The overhead whirling of blades makes it easy to simulate chopper blades. Oh... and I always flush when I leave.
 
Pretty cool man cave ya got there. I just bought my first house, moving in may 25th, and its only a few years old with an unfinished basement. As soon as I walked into the basement for the first time I visualized exactly what i was going to do with it and already have plans for my gun & reloading room/man cave. Ill get pics up if I get it finished anytime soon.
 
We are doing the very same thing.
I'm in the middle of moving from our old house to our new house too.
Congrats.

I do have an office room now too for the first time in YEARS.
I'm excited!

But mine is a total disaster right now with tools and boxes and stuff just thrown all over until I get it organized.

I do have "this" though so far.
All else is a work in progress.

Very nice room you have there...much more modern than mine. It's fun to put together rooms like that.

I had an unused room in my basement, and a bunch of collections being stored in various places around the house. I figured I’d get more enjoyment from the items if I somehow displayed them, and so I’ve attempted to convert the room in my basement into something of a “Man Cave” to display some of the stuff. My background is in archaeology, so most of my so called "collections” contain what a lot people would consider old junk. Specifically there are a variety of artifacts (in various states of disrepair), fossils, WWII and Civil War militaria, pocket knife collection, old hunting supplies/hide/antlers, some historic pottery, etc (and a lot of other bits and pieces, some of which you can see in the photo if you look closely). The walls are mostly covered with framed WWII newspapers covering topics like Pearl Harbor, D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, German/Japanese surrender, etc. Also some historic photos/prints, and archaeology field school t-shirts on the walls. Furnishings include the usual living room stuff, a kitchenette with table/chairs, small fridge and microwave. Also my old rolltop desk and bookshelves. The room still needs a lot of renovating, but it's a "work in progress" that I enjoy very much.

Someday.............I hope to have a garage with a room upstairs. Shop downstairs and mancave upstairs. In a year or 2 I should have a kid moving out........I may be able to gain a room....I hope

I can't wait to move out of an apartment into a real home with space, and start my gun room/vault/mancave. I am mostly posting to subscribe, as this thread will definitely help me visualize and plan mine the way I want it :) very cool pics so far
 
Doug S, that is the best gun room by far I have ever seen. Nice Job!

Now my cave consists of targets, an (empty) ammo can, and an airsoft pistol on my nightstand. Sadly, dad won't let me have any real guns in my room. :(
 
Well I'm embarassed to show mine. I have a four car garage (2 wide x 2 deep) and have built a 10x14 room in the back corner, installed a window and window a/c and have hanging cabinets most of the way around. It's a complete rubbish heap right now though so no pics.

I built the bench, incl 3" thk top, out of <$30 of on-sale 2x4s.

Cabs and load bench bases are on-sale cabs from Sutherlands; at ~$50 a pop, I'm not sure I could build them for less, not to mention the room went together a lot faster.

Note presses and lubrisizers under load bench. Each is on a pallet that bolts to one of 2 positions on the bench with 1/2" bolts.

While the garage/shop is a bit off-topic, a lot of gun tinkering has blessed the benches, incl ultrasonic cleaning my ROAs, not to mention birthplace of MC benches, so I consider it the MC annex, shared with my father-in-law. Pictured are my cleaning center--no more card table--for cleaning bp guns;

Well, that's my MC at my 4-ac mesquite and rabbit pellet ranch, called Loon Acres, in booful downtown Sierra Vista, AZ--well, county, really, and closer to Hereford than SV. One of these days I may learn to do one task at a time--that's not a mess, it's controlled chaos; buku chores going on at once. Back to it. See ya round the campfire. mm
