You know it's a great range day when......

I agree, good shooting. I've always said a lousy day at the range (e.g. forgot to bring targets or ammunition for one of the firearms) is better than a good day at the office.

Nice looking pistol too.

That sounds like a perfect day at the range to me! And good shooting too!

My favorite range trips are usually the ones when the weather isn't "perfect" enough to be out in. Snowy, cold, rain, HOT (relatively speaking here in New England), etc. I save the "perfect" days for cycling and hiking. ;)

The only thing that keeps me off the range is weather that will prevent me from driving my jeep down the clay road to get there (unlikely). I often choose bad weather for my weekly training day, because I usually have the entire complex to myself. Also its reminiscent of my "glory days" when we made an effort to train in any and all conditions (sigh). BTW, the staff at my range all think there is "something wrong with me".

Yep nothing like having the whole range to yourself! Been crazy enough to do that in some very inclement weather.

Love your CZ 97B (certainly accurate too)!

Great shooting.

I have liked the CZ pistols ever since Jeff Cooper was promoting them. I just never got around to actually buying one. Yours looks great. The grips definitely match well.

I always have the range to myself. The city does not have a range-master. As such they only allow one group at the range at a time. A group can consist of one person. The downside is that the range has to be reserved two days in advance and if I am not quick some else will take the good time-slots.

A lot of folks think range time is social time. I hate people so I am with you, like the whole place to myself. I will go out of my way to go in sketchy wx, and in no small way am into night vision (and IR lasers...) because I can shoot when it's dark and no one else is around.

The big CZ has never done it for me but it looks very good in that photo!

Never given much thought to a CZ but yours is a very good looking pistol. And it obviously shoots well when wielded by a highly skilled individual such as yourself :D..... Lol.!

I would be lucky to hit the paper. :uhoh: All joking aside....good shooting and a good looking pistol !

Agreed, range therapy is wonderful stuff. Whether I'm alone or there are others present, I usually come home with useful experience, range brass and a big ol' grin. Yesterday, the new-to-me Marlin M57 was function tested and dialed in. Another lesson that I don't have to spend a lot of $$ for a ton of fun.

Almost makes my fingers hurt [:)]
Was out on the range one day when it went from about 39º to 31º--actually became complicated as everything was starting to stop running from just being too cold (and from not stopping long enough to use lube for sub-freezing temps).
Having the range to yourself, in any weather, is sublime by any measure.

You, sir, are a dedicated shooter.

I was at the range once showing newbies from Los Angeles how to shoot. After father and son fired a few rounds from my deer rifle that were somewhere near target center I took one shot and hit the bull's eye dead center. I chortled and made a comment that that was enough for me. THEY were impressed and and I was fortunate enough to have such a good first (and only) shot.

I've been to the range several times when there's only me shooting and having 2 range officers. this usually happens when the winds pick up or it starts raining. (The shooting stations have an awning). I often shoot steel so my targets stay put but not necessarily my arms as they get pushed by the wind.

btw, i have yet to handle a cz97b. always have been interested in one but not sure how the grip would feel.

I shot my cheap AR in the Yakima desert in 14 degrees, in a violent snow storm. Spent a few hours shooting a Mini in a mountain scene out of a snowglobe. Gun in snow is really fun.

Nothing like having my club's range all to myself on a beautiful summer morning.... Well; almost all to myself..... Just me and the deer hanging around downrange. IMG_1798.JPG
