If you were only allowed 1 handgun (CCW, range, HD, etc), what would it be? Why?
How would you carry?
What caliber?

I haven't even held one yet but if it's anything like the SR9, I'd love to try it.

What caliber?

What - Glock Subcompact with Golden Saber/Ranger SXT for HD
Why - Small size, accurate, light weight, easy to field strip, easy to shoot fast/double taps, full size back up magazines
How - Fobus paddle holster
Caliber - G27 with additional Lone Wolf replacement and 40-9 conversion barrels for lead bullet practice

I would carry a Glock 17/19 in a IWB holster with two spare mags in a carrier. 9mm can be found here and all over the world. 9mm is a NATO cartridge, and used by the U.S. Military. In hard times, 9mm will most likely be the ammo one will come across.
In not so hard times, 9mm is cheap to buy, can be found in every gun shop/ sporting store (when there isn't a shortage), and is easy to reload. The 9mm is accurate and can penetrate adequately. The 9mm caliber also lends itself to high capacity pistol designs , like the Glock 17/19. I chose Glock because they are IMO/IME, simple in design, reliable, durable, accurate enough to get the job done, highly rust resistant, low maintainence, and not ammo sensitive.

See Pic attached I believe in one shot many kills so this is my choice and I would carry it in a galco in the small of the back..:neener:

Nah my choice will always be my Sig 229 with either my .40SW or .357 Sig BBL in place..and a Galco cross draw...When I am trampling through the wilderness here then either my .500 S&W Mag or my S&W Backpacker 629..

Well I hope the only one thing never comes up.But Id have to go with my Colt 1911 carried (IWB).

if i could only carry one it would be my glock 26

how: iwb
why: 9mm readily available, can accept glock 17,18,19 magazines. durable, dependable and can be abused and still function. replacement parts easily obtainable.

Considering it would be loaded round the clock and for the rest of my life. I would have to pick either my .357 Magnum Secuity-Six or .357 S&W 19-4 in a strong-side hip holster for the security-six, or crossdraw for the 19-4. As you can see they have been carried a lot.

Only one? That's easy, Glock 19

Big enough for home, fun at the range, vehicle
Small/light enough to CCW all year 'round
Will handle pretty much any hopped up 9mm JHP loading I can put through it
I can detail strip it in a matter of minutes, and can replace any part on my own
Lots of round count options (15, 17, 19, 33)
9mm can be found anywhere in the world
Accurate enough to hit pretty much anything I need to in a 25 yard radius
Will easily last my lifetime

It's not my favorite, but IMO there is no better all around gun
